Investigation of the Nuclear Structure of 174-206Hg Isotopes Using Skyrme- Hartree-Fock Method

The effective Skyrme type interactions have been used in the Haretree-Fock
mean-field model for several decades, and many different parameterizations of the
interaction have been realized to better reproduce nuclear masses, radii, and various
other data. In the present research, the SkM, SkM*, SI, SIII, SIV, T3, Sly4, Skxs15,
Skxs20 and Skxs25 Skyrme parameterizations have been used within Haretree-Fock
(HF) method to investigate some static and dynamic nuclear ground state properties
of 174-206Hg isotopes. In particular, the binding energy per nucleon, proton, neutron,
mass and charge densities and corresponding root mean square radii, neutron skin
thickness and charge form factor. The calculated results are compared with the
available experimental data. From present calculation, we can deduce that the
Skyrme–Hartree–Fock (SHF) method with above parameterizations provide a good
description on the Hg isotopes.

Numerical Simulation of Ice Melting Using the Finite Volume Method

The Aim of this paper is to investigate numerically the simulation of ice melting in one and two dimension using the cell-centered finite volume method. The mathematical model is based on the heat conduction equation associated with a fixed grid, latent heat source approach. The fully implicit time scheme is selected to represent the time discretization. The ice conductivity is chosen
to be the value of the approximated conductivity at the interface between adjacent ice and water control volumes. The predicted temperature distribution, percentage melt fraction, interface location and its velocity is compared with those obtained from the exact analytical solution. A good agreement is obtained when comparing the numerical results of one

Study of the Halo Structure for Some Light Neutron-Rich Nuclei Using the Cosh Potential

The radial wave functions of the cosh potential within the three-body model of (Core+ 2n) have been employed to investigate the ground state properties such as the proton, neutron and matter densities and the associated rms radii of neutron-rich 6He, 11Li, 14Be, and 17B exotic nuclei. The density distributions of the core and two valence (halo) neutrons are described by the radial wave functions of the cosh potential. The obtained results provide the halo structure of the above exotic nuclei. Elastic electron scattering form factors of these halo nuclei are studied by the plane-wave Born approximation.

Evaluation of the Mishrif Formation Using an Advanced Method of Interpretation

The Mishrif Formation is one of the most important geological formations in Iraq consisting of limestone, marl, and shale layers since it is one of the main oil producing reservoirs in the country, which contain a significant portion of Iraq's oil reserves. The formation has been extensively explored and developed by the Iraqi government and international oil companies, with many oil fields being developed within it. The accurate evaluation of the Mishrif formation is key to the successful exploitation of this field. However, its geological complexity poses significant challenges for oil production, requiring advanced techniques to accurately evaluate its petrophysical properties.

Pore Structure Characterization of Shale Reservoir Using Nitrogen Adsorption-Desorption

This research paper aimed to quantitively characterize the pore structure of shale reservoirs. Six samples of Silurian shale from the Ahnet basin were selected for nitrogen adsorption-desorption analysis. Experimental findings showed that all the samples are mainly composed of mesopores with slit-like shaped pores, as well as the Barrett-Joyner-Halenda pore volume ranging from 0.014 to 0.046 cm3/ 100 g, where the lowest value has recorded in the AHTT-1 sample, whereas the highest one in AHTT-6, while the rest samples (AHTT-2, AHTT-3, AHTT-4, AHTT-5) have a similar average value of 0.03 cm3/ 100 g. Meanwhile, the surface area and pore size distribution were in the range of 3.8 to 11.1 m2 / g and 1.7 to 40 nm, respectively.

Radon Concentration Measurement in Ainkawa Region Using Solid State Nuclear Track Detector

Radon is the air contaminant radioactive gas which people exposed to, is a reason for lung damages and lung cancer. The areas that are subject to high radon levels are found by radon concentration measurement. The radon activity concentration, annual effective dose, and potential alpha energy concentration (PAEC), were measured in houses of Ainkawa region using CR-39 solid state nuclear track detectors SSNTDs with the sealed-can technique. In the present paper the estimated values for radon activity concentration are in the range 55.99-112.8 Bq/m3 with 84.30 Bq/m3 as a mean value, the range of annual effective dose are 1.411-2.872 mSv/y, with mean value 2.124 mSv/y, and the potential alpha energy c

Effect of Flaring Angle of Transition Structure On the Scouring of outlet structure

The transition structure is considered as the most important hydraulic structure controlling the w/s transtion, morever it decrease the scouring of outlet structure.

seven experiment samples for transition structure was used in this research at different angles ( 10° - 90° ).

It was shown that froud number has a clear effect on the depth of the scouring, morever the high discharge rates cause an increase of the ratio between the length of the scour and its depth.

In order to select the best flaring angle it was shown that the angle of 40° has the most discharge rate, least structure length and least angle scour depth, with the firmly of t

The Influence of Production and Destruction of O Isotopes in Red Giant Stars

Thermonuclear reaction rates are calculated for three oxygen isotopes 14,15,16O in CNO cycles reactions occurring in red giant stars. These reactions are:, , , , and . Reaction rates have been calculated using Matlab codes, and related comparisons were made with NACRE II and Reaclib libraries, and the ratios of production to the destruction of 15,16O isotopes were found. Present reaction rate results were close to most of the selected reactions, and in some cases larger with a factor of 1-3. 15,16O production to destruction ratios indicated a special tendency to saturate at temperatures higher than ~ 2 GK, and these ratios were in general larger than 1 indicating an excess of producing such isotopes in re
