The present study including determined pathological changes in Barbus sharpeyi, as
well as description behavior and growth of bunni fish by used 180 fingerlings, Fish
were distributed randomly upon four treatments in addition to control group. First
treatment (T1) contained cadmium 0.093mg/L with changing water and added cadmium
continuously, the second treatment (T2) contained cadmium 0.093mg/L with changing
water without adding cadmium, third treatment (T3) contained cadmium 0.046mg/L
with changing water and adding cadmium continuously, fourth treatment (T4) contained
cadmium 0.046mg/L with changing water without adding cadmium. In order to estimate
LC50 used 120 fingerlings of fish B. sharpeyi, were exposed to 0.5, 0.6, 0.7, 0.8, 0.9
and 1.0mg/L. The LC50 of cadmium was 0.932mg/L for 48h of exposure. Fish behavior
was recorded showed abnormalities after exposure to the various cadmium
concentrations such as swimming disorders, the fish tended together at the surface, fast
movement, fish aggregate in aquarium border, fish weakness, opened and closed in
operculum festally, as well as a significant decrease at (P≤0.05) in body weight of
T1,T2 and T3. Histopathological changes in gills characterized by lamellar fusion,
lifting of secondary lamella, The main findings in liver tissue were hydropic swelling
and fatty degeneration of some hepatocytes, focal or diffuse necrosis, Kidney result
varying degrees of tubular necrosis with severe congestion together with
melanomacrophage infiltration. Intestine results showed slauphing and necrosis of
mucosal epithelial of intestinal villi and diffuse MNCs infiltration, hyperplasia and
hypertrophy of goblet cell. Spleen observed severe destruction in spleenic parenchyma,
severe reduction in hemopoitic tissue.
This paper presents a sight about the chemical structure deformation of poly (ethylene-co-vinyl acetate) (EVA) samples according to the change ratio of rate constant values. Spectroscopy kinetics fluorescence curves are fitted for two characteristic wavelength domains of fluorescent intensities. The short wavelengths (320-400 nm) domain show spectra overlapping, while at long wavelengths (400-800 nm) domain spectra are arranged in regular for each specific accelerated aging time. The current study is a taxonomic account of three gastrotrich species that belong to Chaetonotidae (Phylum Gastrotricha) namely Ichthydium auritum Brunson, 1950 Lepidodermella squamata (Dujardin, 1841) and Chaetonotus anomalus Brunson, 1950. These species are registered as a new record from Iraq and were collected from several locations along the main outfall drain (MOD) in south of Baghdad, from January to December 2020. The species described in this article were found to be related to Hydrilla and Ceratophyllum and prefer environments rich in detritus and decomposing organic matter. The worms preferred water that is salty, hard, alkaline, and had good oxygen content.
In this study NiO - CoO bimetallic catalysts are prepared with two Ni/Co ratios (70:30 and 80: 20) using the precipitation method of nitrate salts. The effects of Ni /Co ratio and preparation methods on the catalyst are analyzed by using different characterization techniques, i.e. atomic absorption (AA) , XRD, surface area and pore volume measurements according to the BET method . The results indicate that the best catalyst is the one containing the percentage of Ni :Co ( 70 : 30 ). The first aim of the present study was performed to assay the activity of arginase in sera of women with uterine fibroid.. This study consisted of(50) women with uterine fibroid as patient's group and (30) healthy women as control group. The age ranged between (30-55) years for the two groups. The results showed that highly significant increase (P< 0.0001) in the arginase activity in sera of women with uterine fibroid (7.99± 0.23) I.U/L is found when compared with healthy group (0.52±0.02) I.U/L. Show MoreThe resistance of Staphylococcus aureus to ciprofloxacin has complicated the problem of treating staphylococcal associated infections in which MRSA is the causative agent since ciprofloxacin was the drug of choice to treat such infections. Our study investigated the incidence of Ciprofloxacin resistant S. aureus isolates that were also methicillin resistant among Iraqi patients. The obtained bacterial isolates were tested for Ciprofloxacin resistance using agar dilution method and the sequence of gyrA and parC. The results revealed that about 8% of the isolated MRSA strains were Ciprofloxacin resistant and the resistance was due to mutation in gyrA rather than parC.
