The most significant complication of diabetes is bone disorders which contributes to high levels of bone disability. This study included 118 diabetic patients, 56 males, 62 females, and 60 healthy non-diabetic controls, 30 males, 30 females. The patients and controls were age matched. This was performed because most of the Iraqi stations lack solar radiation measuring devices. The equation postulated by Angström (1924) and modified by Prescott (1940) was utilized for the estimation of the solar radiation for the fourteen Iraqi metrological stations depending on sunshine duration measurements of these stations.
