Carbon nanotubes were prepared by an arc-discharge method,
under different values of pressure of oxygen gas. The structure of
multi-walled carbon nanotubes powders has been characterized by
low-angle X-ray diffraction .The morphology of carbon nanotube
powder was examined by transmission electron microscope. The
capacitance-voltage and current- voltage (dark and illumination
current) characterization were measured under different values of
pressure (10-3, 10-4, 10-5) mbar of oxygen gas
This article studied some linear and nonlinear optical characteristics of different pH solutions from anthocyanin dye extract at 180 oC from red cabbage. First, the linear spectral characteristics, including absorption and transmittance in the range 400-800 nm for anthocyanin solution 5% v/v with different pHs, were achieved utilizing a UV/VIS spectrophotometer. The experimental results reveal a shift in the absorption toward the longer wavelength direction as pH values increment. Then, the nonlinear features were measured using the Z-scan technique with a CW 532 nm laser to measure the nonlinear absorption coefficient through an open aperture. A close aperture (diameter 2 mm) calculates the nonlinear refractive index. The open Z-scan sh

Dental expression of children with rickets contains enamel hypoplasia and delayed tooth eruption. This study was conducted in order to assess caries experience (dmfs) and enamel defects among study and control groups, and to evaluate and compare the levels of selected salivary biomarkers between children with nutritional rickets and apparently healthy children. Material and methods: Assessment of caries according to WHO in 1987, and assessment of enamel defects according to enamel defect index EDI of WHO in 1997. In addition a stimulated saliva samples were collected according to Palone e

Hatching took place in the intestine of the copepod host within 10 minutes of exposure to the infective eggs. Motile acanthor penetrated the wall of the intestine within 2-4 hr. after exposure and was found free in the hemocoel where it metamorphoses through the acanthella stage. Acanthella stage revealed changes in the entoblast where the anterior section gave rise to brain, proboscis and proboscis receptacle. The posterior section differentiation gave rise to the genital system. By 12 days, development in the copep

It was found that one-third to one-half of diabetics have peripheral neuropathy. The current study aimed to evaluate the level of visfatin in diabetic patient groups with or without peripheral neuropathy in comparison with healthy subjects to knowledge whether visfatin can be applied as a predictor factor for this type of disease complication. The study included 120 males and females ranging in age from 40 to 97 years old. (40 patients with type 2 diabetes, 40 patients with diabetic peripheral neuropathy, and 40 healthy people served as the control group

The study of relationship of vaginal infection with the age showed that the incidence of infection with Candida was high among females age group (19-39 years).
Background: In the last years, Endometriosis affects up to 10 percent of reproductive aged Iraqi women. Little is known about the etiology of endometriosis in Iraqi women.
Objectives: The aim of this study is to investigate the hormonal changes, antioxidant status, Coenzyme Q10 and oxidative stress in women patients with endometriosis.
Patients and methods: 30 endometriotic women mean aged (31.16±5.61 year ) who were undergoing laparoscopy to participate in this study, and (n=30) healthy women volunteers mean aged (31.96±5.42 year) as control group.
Results: The results in this study revealed a highly significant increased (P<0.01) in estradiol (E2), uric acid (UA) and oxidative stress (MDA). The results of the Coenzyme Q10
Background: Green tea Camellia sinensis is non fermented tea. The tea is an infusion of flavorful leaves that has been consumed for centuries as a beverage and is valued for its medicinal properties. Over the last few decades green tea has been subjected to many scientific and medical studies to determine the extent of its long-purported health benefits, with some evidence suggesting regular green tea drinkers may have lower chances of heart disease and developing certain types of cancer. Green tea has also been claimed useful for weight loss management.
Methods: Three doses of the hot water extract were used (19.2, 38.4 and 57.6 mg/kg) to investigate micronucleus formation and phagocytic index. Mice were
