Smoothing Image using Adaptive Median Filter

Median filter is adopted to match the noise statistics of the degradation seeking good quality smoothing images. Two methods are suggested in this paper(Pentagonal-Hexagonal mask and Scan Window Mask), the study involved modified median filter for improving noise suppression, the modification is considered toward more reliable results. Modification median filter (Pentagonal-Hexagonal mask) was found gave better results (qualitatively and quantitatively ) than classical median filters and another suggested method (Scan Window Mask), but this will be on the account of the time required. But sometimes when the noise is line type the cross 3x3 filter preferred to another one Pentagonal-Hexagonal with few variation. Scan Window Mask gave better results qualitatively when removing line noise than another filters, also will be on the account of the time required.

New Class of Conjugate Gradient Methods for Removing Impulse Noise Images

The conjugate coefficient optimal is the very establishment of a variety of  conjugate gradient methods. This paper proposes a new class coefficient of conjugate gradient (CG) methods for impulse noise removal, which is based on the quadratic model. Our proposed method ensures descent independent of the accuracy of the line search and it is globally convergent under some conditions, Numerical experiments are also presented for the impulse noise removal in images.

Segmenting the Dermatological Diseases Images by Developing the Range Operator

Medical image segmentation is a frequent processing step in image medical understanding and computer aided diagnosis. In this paper, development of range operator in image segmentation is proposed depending on dermatology infection. Three different block sizes have been utilized on the range operator and the developed ones to enhance the behavior of the segmentation process of medical images. To exploit the concept of range filtering, the extraction of the texture content of medical image is proposed. Experiment is conducted on different medical images and textures to prove the efficacy of our proposed filter was good results.

Noise Reduction, Enhancement and Classification for Sonar Images

    Ultrasound imaging has some problems with image properties output. These affects the specialist decision. Ultrasound noise type is the speckle noise which has a grainy pattern depending on the signal. There are two parts of this study. The first part is the enhancing of images with adaptive Weiner, Lee, Gamma and Frost filters with 3x3, 5x5, and 7x7 sliding windows. Images Segmentation Based on Fast Otsu Method Implementing on Various Edge Detection Operators

The present work aims to study the effect of using an automatic thresholding technique to convert the features edges of the images to binary images in order to split the object from its background, where the features edges of the sampled images obtained from first-order edge detection operators (Roberts, Prewitt and Sobel) and second-order edge detection operators (Laplacian operators). The optimum automatic threshold are calculated using fast Otsu method. The study is applied on a personal image (Roben) and a satellite image to study the compatibility of this procedure with two different kinds of images. The obtained results are discussed.

The Use of Cubic Bezier Interpolation, Biorthogonal Wavelet and Quadtree Coding to Compress Color Images

In this paper, an efficient method for compressing color image is presented. It allows progressive transmission and zooming of the image without need to extra storage. The proposed method is going to be accomplished using cubic Bezier surface (CBI) representation on wide area of images in order to prune the image component that shows large scale variation. The Use of HSV Color Model for Subtle Ear Region Extraction

Identifying people by their ear has recently received import attention in the literature. The accurate segmentation of the ear region is vital in order to make successful person identification decisions. This paper presents an effective approach for ear region segmentation from color ear images. Firstly, the RGB color model was converted to the HSV color model.
