In this work, Schiff base ligands L1: N, N-bis (2-hydroxy-1-naphthaldehyde) hydrazine, L2: N, N-bis (salicylidene) hydrazine, and L3:N –salicylidene- hydrazine were synthesized by condensation reaction. The prepared ligands were reacted with specific divalent metal ions such as (Mn2+, Fe2+, Ni2+) to prepare their complexes. The ligands and complexes were characterized by C.H.N, FT-IR, UV-Vis, solubility, melting point and magnetic susceptibility measurements. The results show that the ligands of complexes (Mn2+, Fe2+) have octahedral geometry while the ligands of complexes (Ni2+) have tetrahedral geometry.
Metal corrosion is a destructive process for many industrial operations, including oil well acidizing and acid pickling. Therefore, numerous efforts made by many researchers to control the steel corrosion. In the present work, A (E)-4-(((4-(5-mercapto-1,3,4-oxadiazol-2-yl) phenyl) amino) methyl)-2-methoxyphenol (MOPM) has been synthesized and characterized as a new corrosion inhibitor for mild steel in 0.1 M hydrochloric acid. FTIR and 1 HNMR were used in the diagnosis of MOPM, while electrochemical polarization technique was employed to test the performance of inhibitor at various temperatures and inhibitor concentrations. Electrochemical studies showed that MOPM acts as a mixed-type inhibitor with a maximum inhibition efficiency of

Characterization of these compounds has been done on the basis of elemental analysis, electronic data, FT-IR,UV-Vis and 1 HNMR, as well as magnetic susceptibility and conductivity measurements. The nature of thecomplexes formed were studies following the mole ratio and continuous variation methods, Beer ' s law obeyed over a concentrationrange (1x10 -4 - 3x10 -4 M). High molar absorbtivity of the complex solutions were observed. From the analytical data, thestoichiomerty of the complexes has been found to be 1:2 (Metal:ligand). Fundamentally, 4-chloro-6-nitro-2-amino-1,3-benzothiazole 1 was synthesized via bromination of 2-chloro-4-nitro aniline with ammonium thiocyanate. This new heterocyclic haloorganoamino-1,3-benzothiazole derivative, was a starting material, which condensed and tethered with three different aromatic aldehyde pendant arm in presence of ethanol and glacial acetic acid isolating an interesting sequence of tridentate Schiff bases 2-4. These compounds were used for complexation reactions in 1:1 (metal: ligand) stoichiometry to obtain heteroleptic Al(III), Ni (II) and K(I) benzothiazole chelat
