A polycrystalline PbxS1-x alloys with various Pb content ( 0.54 and 0.55) has been prepared successfully. The structure and composition of alloys are determined by X-ray diffraction (XRD), atomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS) and X-ray fluorescence (XRF) respectively. The X-ray diffraction results shows that the structure is polycrystalline with cubic structure, and there are strong peaks at the direction (200) and (111), the grain size varies between 20 and 82 nm. From AAS and XRF result, the concentrations of Pb content for these alloys were determined. The results show high accuracy and very close to the theoretical values. A photoconductive detector as a bulk has been fabricated by taking pieces of prepared alloys and polished chemically, etching, and annealing at special condition. photoconductive properties of these detectors were measured

Cigarette smoke contains a lot of toxic and oxidizing materials which causes body toxicity and reduces antioxidant that results in many diseases. In this study, levels of Zinc and Copper (which are antioxidant) were measured in serum of smokers and nonsmokers. It was found that the level of Zinc in serum of smokers was significantly lower than nonsmokers because nitric oxide which is one of cigarette contents acts to increase zinc loss, also a significantly lower copper levels were found in smokers than nonsmokers due to consumption of copper in reducing cadmium toxicity which is a cigarette smoke content
Extraction and preparation of red organic dye from beetroot plant in different concentrations by using the solvent extraction process. Ethanol was the solvent used to prepare five different concentrations at the ratio of (Dye: Ethanol) abbreviated (D: E) 5:0,4:1, 3:2, 2:3,1:4. The optical, structural, and morphological properties are studied for the samples. The results appeared using the UV-Vis spectroscope the maximum peak of absorption (A) spectrum at wavelength Aλmax=480 nm when the transmittance (T) at the same wavelength 25% and the reflectivity 0.8%. Mixed ligands of 2-benzoyl Thiobenzimiazole (L1) with 1,10-phenanthroline (L2) complexes of Cr(III) , Ni(II) and Cu(II) ions were prepared. Concentrations of radon were measured in this study for twenty-four samples of soil distributed in six locations on the north part of Iraq. The radon concentrations in soil samples measured by using alpha-emitters registration that emits from Radon (222Rn) in (CR-39) track detector. The concentrations values were calculated by a comparison with standard samples. The results shows that the radon gas concentrations in Darbandikhan City varies from (16.60-34.04 Bq/m3), Halabja City (16.51-23.32 Bq/m3), Al Sulaimaniya City (17.61-32.25 Bq/m3), Koisnjaq City (22.04-35.65 Bq/m3), Shaqlaua City (21.10-29.10 Bq/m3) and Erbil City (22.30-34.63 Bq/m3). In this work, study the optical properties of composites consisting of poly Methyl Methacrylate and Berry Paper Mulberry. The samples of composites were prepared using casting method .The Berry Paper Mulberry (BPM) was added by different concentrations are (0, 2, 4 and 6)wt.%. The optical properties of composites have been studied in the wavelength range (200-800)nm. The absorption coefficient ,energy gap, refractive index, extinction coefficient and dielectric constants have been determined.
