The efficiency calibration for local manufacturing gamma scanning systems of radioactive waste drums

The Local manufacturing scanning gamma system designed in Tuwaitha site for nondestructive assay method of radioactive waste drums, where it consist of two main parts with their belongings for controlling the of detector and drum movements up-down and rotation respectively. The volume of the used drum is 220 L with 85 cm height. The drum filled with Portland cement. Six cylindrical holes were made within cement drum and distributed in radial arrangement.The152Eu source inserted in these holes individually, to measure the average angular count rate of gamma radiation. The full energy efficiency value for geometry of drum and detector is computed for thirteen photo peaks. The average efficiency represented by the curve of these peaks indicated the decreasing of efficiency value with increasing the cement thickness and the distance between the detector and the location of radioactive source inside the drum.

Local Search Algorithms for Multi-criteria Single Machine Scheduling Problem

   Real life scheduling problems require the decision maker to consider a number of criteria before arriving at any decision. In this paper, we consider the multi-criteria scheduling problem of n jobs on single machine to minimize a function of five criteria denoted by total completion times (∑), total tardiness (∑), total earliness (∑), maximum tardiness () and maximum earliness (). In multivariate survival analysis, estimating the multivariate distribution functions and then measuring the association between survival times are of great interest. Copula functions, such as Archimedean Copulas, are commonly used to estimate the unknown bivariate distributions based on known marginal functions. The effect of Gamma radiation on The Dielectric Properties of SiO2\ Ep: TiO2 \ Ep Nanocomposite

This research investigates the dielectric properties (impedance, dielectric constant
and dielectric loss) of SiO2\ Ep :TiO2 \ Ep nanocomposite over the frequency range
of (102-106 Hz ) at room temperature. The dielectric material used is epoxy resin,
while nano-sized titanium dioxide (TiO2) with grain size ( 30nm) , oxide silicon
(SiO2) with grain size (12nm) in state volume ratio (0,0.05 ,0.1) .The effect of
gamma by using (CS137) for period time (17) day was studied Radiation caused
decreasing in real and imaginary parts of dielectric constant and impedance .

Production of Bioethanol from Waste Potatoes

In this research, production of ethanol from waste potatoes fermentation was studied using Saccharmyses cerevisiae. Potato Flour was prepared from potato tubers after cooking and drying at 85°C. Homogenous slurry of potato flour was prepared in water at solid liquid ratio 1:10. Liquefaction of potato flour slurry with α-amylase at 80°C for 40 min followed by saccharification with glucoamylase at 65°C for 2 hr .Fermentation of hydrolysate with Saccharomyces cerevisiae at 35°C for two days resulted in production of 33 g/l ethanol.

Recycling waste toys to accessories suggested uniform for educational units in kindergarten stages

This research considers the preservation of environment through recycling old toys. This is achieved by transforming the old toys into educational clothing accessories for kindergarten stages. The research methodology adapts both descriptive and applied approaches. The research questionnaire targeted a sample of 35 teachers to collect information about the waste toys in kindergarten. Also, another sample of 30 teachers and mothers were targeted to measure the suitability of the clothing designs for the early childhood stages.
