In this paper, the behavior of structural concrete linear bar members was studied using numerical model implemented in a computer program written in MATLAB. The numerical model is based on the modified version of the procedure developed by Oukaili. The model is based on real stress-strain diagrams of concrete and steel and their secant modulus of elasticity at different loading stages. The behavior presented by normal force-axial strain and bending moment-curvature relationships is studied by calculating the secant sectional stiffness of the member. In south Iraq, the region is classified as arid or semiarid area due to the low precipitations and high temperature among the year. In this paper, the Landat-8 satellite imagery will be used to study and estimate the vegetable area in south Iraq. For this purpose many vegetation indices will be examined to estimate and extract the area of vegetation contain in and image. Also, the weathering parameters must be investigated to find the relationship between these parameters and the arability of vegetation cover crowing in the specific area. The remote sensing packages and Matlab written subroutines may be use to evaluate the results.

winter which is considered as a rare phenomenon in the Middle East. Snow is
covering parts of mountains in northern Iraq and neighboring countries in the first
months of the year. In this research, the snow cover can be detected and monitored
using pseudo color method, and the Normalized Difference Snow INDECES
(NDSI). Snow cover is difficult to detect in true color satellite images because the
white color of snow cover is the same color with the cloud cover. Modis sensors that
carried by Terra and Equa satellites images have been used in different bands and
different resolution and the case studied in 4/2/2017, 5/2/2017.
