Effect of industrial powder on mechanical properties of glass fiber reinforced epoxy composite
...Show More Authors

In the present study, composites were prepared by Hand lay-up molding and investigated. The composites constituents were epoxy resin as the matrix, 6% volume fractions of Glass Fibers (G.F) as reinforcement and 3%, 6% of industrial powder (Calcium Carbonate CaCO3, Potassium Carbonate K2CO3 and Sodium Carbonate Na2CO3) as filler. Density, water absorption, hardness test, flexural strength, shear stress measurements and tests were conducted to reveal their values for each type of composite material. The results showed that the non – reinforced epoxy have lower properties than composites material. Measured density results had show an incremental increase with volume fraction increase and water absorption, hardness, flexural strength and shear stress results had show an incremental increase with volume fraction increase and with smaller particle size.

Study of the Effect of Epipremnum Aureum Extracts and Tribulus Terrestris L. as a Natural Alternative for the use of Industrial Antioxidants
...Show More Authors

In this study, two types of local plants were chosen, the first is the plant golden pothos Epipremnum aureum and the second is the Iraqi Sheikh's chin plant Tribulus terrestris L, for the purpose of making a comparison between them in terms of their possession of chemical groups with antioxidant activity in order to use them as a natural alternative to using antioxidants Industrial that cause negative effects on human health, the samples were prepared using the method of water and alcohol extraction (ethanol 70%) for both plants. It revealed the presence of a number of chemical groups (tannins, carbohydrates, phenols, flavonoids, alkaloids) for both plants, the aqueous and alcoholic extracts. Coumarins are only found in the sheikh's chin pl

Refractive index sensor based on a solid-core photonic crystal fiber interferometer
...Show More Authors

Photonic crystal fiber interferometers are widely used for sensing applications. In this work, solid core-Photonic crystal fiber based on Mach-Zehnder modal interferometer for sensing refractive index was presented. The general structure of sensor applied by splicing short lengths of PCF in both sides with conventional single mode fiber (SMF-28). To apply modal interferometer theory; collapsing technique based on fusion splicing used to excite higher order modes (LP01 and LP11). Laser diode (1550 nm) has been used as a pump light source. Where a high sensitive optical spectrum analyzer (OSA) was used to monitor and record the transmitted. The experimental work shows that the interference spectrum of Photonic crystal fiber interferometer

The effect of addition of untreated and oxygen plasma treated polypropylene fibers on some properties of heat cured acrylic resin
...Show More Authors

Background: The polymethyl methacrylate is the most reliable material for the construction of complete and partial dentures, despite satisfying esthetic demand itsuffered from having unsatisfactory properties like impact strength and transverse strength. This study was designed to improve the impact strength and transverse strength of heat cure acrylic resin by adding untreated and oxygen plasma treated polypropylene fibers and investigate the effect of this additive on some properties of acrylic resin materials. Materials and methods: Untreated and oxygen plasma treated polypropylene fibers was added to PMMA powder by weight 2.5 %. Specimens were constructed and divided into 5 groups according to the using tests; each group was subdivided

The effect of annealing and the influence of Gamma-ray on the optical properties of nanostructure Zinc Oxide Thin Films
...Show More Authors

The semiconductor ZnO is one of II – VI compound group, it is prepare as thin films by using chemical spray pyrolysis technique; the films are deposited onto glass substrate at 450 °C by using aqueous zinc chloride as a spray solution of molar concentration 0.1 M/L. Sample of the prepared film is irradiating by Gamma ray using CS 137, other sample is annealed at 550°C. The structure of the irradiated and annealed films are analyzed with X-ray diffraction, the results show that the films are polycrystalline in nature with preferred (002) orientation. The general morphology of ZnO films are imaged by using the Atomic Force Microscope (AFM), it constructed from nanostructure with dimensions in order of 77 nm.

The acoustic efforts of the glass were found in the meanings mixed with other linguistic, grammatical and morphological issues, as the glass was not allocated to the detective or separate chapters in the meanings. The glass-walled in the audio lesson according to the doctrine of the optical, has stated so in several places of its meaning. Glass is interested in mentioning the strong qualities that have a great impact in the chorus and replacements such as loudness, dishes, arrogance, whistling, repetition, and richness. Glass was concerned with the phenomenon of diphtheria great care, and explained its purpose of seeking lightness and ease of pronunciation, and Siboe agreed in its origins and issues, and the glass used three criteria in

Producing Sustainable Concrete using Nano Recycled Glass
...Show More Authors
Background:

Many tools and techniques have been recently adopted to develop construction materials that are less harmful and friendlier to the environment. New products can be achieved through the recycling of waste material. Thus, this study aims to use recycled glass bottles as sustainable materials.

Objective:

Our challenge is to use nano glass powder by the addition or replacement of the weight of the cement for producing concrete with enhanced strength.

Methods:

A nano recycled glass p

Kinetic Study of Adsorption of Malachite Green Dye on Poly Aniline-Formaldehyde/Chitosan Composite
...Show More Authors
Abstract<p>Poly aniline-formaldehyde/chitosan composite (PAFC) was prepared by the in situ polymerization method. It was characterized by FTIR spectroscopy in addition to SEM, EDS and TGA techniques. The adsorption kinetics of malachite green dye (MG) on (PAFC) were studied for various initial concentrations (20, 30 and 40) mg/L at three temperatures (308, 313 and 318) K. The influence factors of adsorption; adsorbent dose, contact time, initial concentration and temperature were investigated. The kinetic studies confirmed that adsorption of MG obeyed the pseudo-second-order model and the adsorption can be controlled through external mass transfer followed by intraparticle diffusion mass transfer.
