Radon concentration measurements in sludge of oil fields in North Oil Company (N.O.C.) of Iraq

In this study the assessment radon concentration in sludge of Oil
Fields in North Oil Company (N.O.C.) of Iraq have been studied
using CR-39 solid–state nuclear track detector technique. A total of
34 samples selected from 12 oil stations in the company have been
placed in the dosimeters. The average radon concentration was found
to be 162.29 Bq/m3 which is fortunately lower than the standard
international limit. The potential alpha energy concentration and
annual effective dose have been calculated. A proportional
relationship between the annual effective dose and radon
concentration within the studied region has been certified.

Sodium Dodecyle Sulphate Injection as a Secondary Oil Recovery Method

Sodium Dodecyle Sulphate (CH3(CH2)11SO4-Na+) solution was used as a secondary oil recovery by using a lab Model shown in figure-1. The effect of (solution concentration, temperature and salinity) on interfacial tension figure-2 and figure-3 and figure-4 respectively. The best values of these three variables, were taken (those values that give the lowest interfacial tension). Porosity, saturation, permeability were determined in the lab depending on Darcy law. Primary oil recovery was displaced by water until no more oil is obtained then sodium dodecyle sulphate solution was injected. Seasonal variations of the species composition and abundance of Cladocera were studied in two stations at the end of the Tigris River and one station at the confluence of the Tigris with Euphrates area, at the beginning of the Shatt Al-Arab River in Al-Qurnah North of Basrah Province, from October 2015 to August 2016. Samples of zooplankton were collected by plankton net 100-µm. mesh size. Therefore, it is vital to research these dunes to limit their bad action on the natural environment by defining the mineralogical composition of these sand dunes deposited around Hor Al-Dalmaj lake between Wast and Al-Qasisiyah Governorates to determine the provenance or the source of these dunes. Barchan and Nabkha dunes represent the main types that are recognized. Variation of Residual Chlorine Concentration in Some Regions of Al_Rassafa

This study was done to examine the concentration of residual chlorine from different regions at AL Risafa side. The samples were collected from Baghdad AL- Jadida, Shareaa Phlistain, AL- Shaab and AL- Habibea, Al-Karrada, Al-Jadria, Al-Adamia at April-August/2013 .The Electrical Conductivity (Ec) and total dissolve solid (TDS), hang about its normal rate according to (WHO) but the Turbidity go beyond it’s limit to reach (11NTU) where the highest peak was recorded in Baghdad AL Jadida.
