The effect of 410nm with 100 mW output power and one centimetre spot size (0.128 W/cm2 power density) Diode laser irradiation at different exposure times on the growth of Gram-negative Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Gram-positive Staphylococcus aureus was evaluated. Seventy swap samples were collected from burn and infected wounds of 35 patients admitted to the burn-wound unit in Al-Yarmouk Teaching Hospital in Baghdad during the period from December 2014 to February 2015. These bacteria were isolated and identified depending on their growth on selective media, cultural characteristics, Gram stain morphology and biochemical tests and finally were confirmed by Vitek 2 compact system test .Susceptibility of bacterial isolates to 15antibiotics was tested using the disk diffusion method. Bacterial standard suspension of 108 cell/ml was prepared for P. aeruginosa and S. aureus. Dilutions of 10-6 cell/ml for P. aeruginosa and 10-5 cell/ml for S. aureus were selected. Ten replicates were used for each experimental group. Following irradiation, CFU/ml was calculated, and antibiotic susceptibility test was performed for the most resistant isolate for each bacterial species. From the results, it was found that out of the 70 samples, 17 isolates (24.3%) were P. aeruginosa and 9 isolates (12.9%) were S. aureus. Antibiotic susceptibility test showed that all isolates of P. aeruginosa and S. aureus were multidrug resistant. It was shown that laser irradiation did not affect the susceptibility of P. aeruginosa isolate to all antibiotics tested. However, a slight increase in the susceptibility of S. aureus isolate to Ampicillin/Cloxacillin, Tetracycline and Vancomycin was observed. Laser Irradiation experiments showed that the number of CFU/ml of P. aeruginosa and S. aureus was significantly reduced with increasing exposure times, reaching a100% bacterial mortality at 13 minutes for S. aureus and 19 minutes for P. aeruginosa. In conclusion, the blue laser irradiation seems to have more bactericidal effect on Gram-positive bacteria (S. aureus) than on Gram-negative (P. aeruginosa).
The current study aims to find a new plan to manage the water quality of the western part of the Hammar Marsh to reduce the salts that cause problems for the marshes and preserve their environmental life by isolating the southwestern part of the Hammar Marsh by closing the outlet under the railway embankment. The present work studies the mechanical properties of SiO2 μPs, and NPs in St/PVA blends. The samples were prepared by casting method as PVA, St/PVA blends at different concentrations (30, 40, 50, and 60 %). DSC and TGA tests were carried out to the samples evolved. The result showed a single glass transition temperature (Tg) for all St /PVA blends that was attributed to the good miscibility of the blends involved. Laser-Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy (LIBS) has been documented as an Atomic Emission Spectroscopy (AES) technique, utilising laser-induced plasma, in order to analyse elements in materials (gases, liquids and solid). The Nd:YAG laser passively Q-switched at 1064nm and 9ns pulse duration focused by convex lens with focal length 100 mm to generates power density 5.5×1012 Mw/mm2 with optical spectrum in the range 320-740 nm. The experiment was carried out to study the effect of NPK and Inicium using two concentration for each of them 1 and 2 gm/L for NPK and 5 and 10 ml/L for Inicium on some physiological characters of Lycopersicon esculentum and mitotic division index of seedling radical apex. The results showed that all the characters increased plant height, stem diameter, leaves number, length of leaf, lobs number in one leaf, length of root and root diameter. The data showed that the percentage of cell division, mitotic division and Telophase stage increased in seedling radical apex comparison with control plants.

The effect of fiber volume fraction of the carbon fiber on the thermal conductivity of the polymer composite material was studied. Different percentages of carbon fibers were used (5%, 10%, 15%, 20%, and 25%). Specimens were made in two groups for unsaturated polyester as a matrix and carbon fibers, first group has parallel arrangement of fibers and the second group has perpendicular arrangement of fibers on the thermal flow, Lee's disk method was used for testing the specimens.
