Stress Urinary Incontinence Treatment Using Vaginal Fractional CO2 Laser (10600nm)
...Show More Authors

Stress urinary incontinence (SUI) is involuntary urine leakage during activities that increase abdominal pressure such as coughing, sneezing and lifting of heavy weights. This is a very common disorder among women with history of multiple vaginal deliveries with an obstructed labor. SUI is considered one of the most distressing problems, especially for younger women, with severe quality of life implications, it caused by the loss of urethral support, usually as a consequence of the supporting structural muscles in the pelvis.

Objective: To prove and demonstrate the effect of a fractional CO2 micro-ablative laser (10600nm) in intra vaginal therapy for treating SUI and achieve a clinical improvement of the urogenital system support.

Methods: This is a prospective, observational study which was conducted over six month from the 1st . of July to 29th of December 2016 in Consultation Gynecologist Clinic in Al-Hila city, Iraq, in patients who complain of SUI. Twenty female patients were included in the study, their age ranged from 30- 69 year, at range (49.5 year ) fifteen patient delivered vaginally, two delivered by cesarean section, two had combined delivery and one was Nulliparous ,all of them received the same treatment protocol. Detailed history about continence assessment, quality of life and sexuality before and after therapy. The fractional CO2 Aphrodite laser was used. The parameters used in each session were energy/(dot)pixel 119.4mJ, pulse duration 900 μs, frequancy1000Hz, and exposure time 300ms /shot with average of shots 34 and in range 26-42, in three sessions four weeks apart between them. The patients were followed for three months started from the beginning of the second session to one month after the last session.

Results: Thirty-five percent of patients 35%(n=7) were cured ,and these 35% included all patients delivered by cesarean section and one third of patients who delivered vaginally and extensively most of patients were 60%(n=12) improved of their SUI. Patient reported no leakage any more while coughing or sneezing. Only 5%(n=1) not responded was menopause women.

Conclusions: This study shows that micro-ablative fractional CO2 laser is effective can produce a remodeling of vaginal connective tissue without causing damage to surrounding tissue and the group of patients with continence disorder without vaginal delivery achieved marked improvement .

Optimal Control Design of the In-vivo HIV Fractional Model
...Show More Authors

HIV is a leading cause of death, in particular, in Sub-Saharan Africa. In this paper, a fractional differential system in vivo deterministic models for HIV dynamics is presented and analyzed. The main roles played by different HIV treatment methods are investigated using fractional optimal control theory. We use three treatment regimens as system control variables to determine the best strategies for controlling the infection. The optimality system is numerically solved using the fractional Adams-Bashforth technique.

Optimal Harvesting Strategy of a Discretization Fractional-Order Biological Model
...Show More Authors

Optimal control methods are used to get an optimal policy for harvesting renewable resources. In particular, we investigate a discretization fractional-order biological model, as well as its behavior through its fixed points, is analyzed. We also employ the maximal Pontryagin principle to obtain the optimal solutions. Finally, numerical results confirm our theoretical outcomes.

Oxidative stress state during pregnancy period
...Show More Authors

The present study was designed to find the relation between oxidative stress and
pregnancy. The study used one hundred twenty volunteers (ninety pregnant women
and thirty non-pregnant women). Then pregnant women were divided to three
subgroups according to trimester (first trimester, second trimester and third
trimester). then, some oxidative stress factors (MDA, GSH, catalase and TAC) were
measurement. Biochemical tests showed significant (P<0.05) increase in
malonedialdehyied (MDA) and significant (P<0.05) decrease in Glutathione (GSH),
Catalase (CAT) and total antioxidant capacity (TAC) in pregnant women compared
with non-pregnant women group. It was concluded from this study that the
pregnancy led to

Stress Analysis of the Hip Bone
...Show More Authors

The bony pelvis has a major role in weight transmission to the lower limbs. The complexities of its geometric form, material properties, and loading conditions render it an open subject to biomechanical analysis.

The present study deals with area measurement, and three-dimensional finite element analysis of the hip bone to investigate magnitudes, load direction, and stress distribution under physiological loading conditions.

The surface areas of the auricular surface, lunate surface, and symphysis pubis were measured in (35) adult hip bones. A solid model was translated into ANSYS parametric design language to be analyzed by finite element analysis method under different loading conditions.

The surface

Gompertz Fréchet stress-strength Reliability Estimation
...Show More Authors

In this paper, the reliability of the stress-strength model is derived for probability P(Y<X) of a component having its strength X exposed to one independent stress Y, when X and Y are following Gompertz Fréchet distribution with unknown shape parameters and known parameters . Different methods were used to estimate reliability R and Gompertz Fréchet distribution parameters, which are maximum likelihood, least square, weighted least square, regression, and ranked set sampling. Also, a comparison of these estimators was made by a simulation study based on mean square error (MSE) criteria. The comparison confirms that the performance of the maximum likelihood estimator is better than that of the other estimators.

Multicomponent Inverse Lomax Stress-Strength Reliability
...Show More Authors

In this article we derive two reliability mathematical expressions of two kinds of s-out of -k stress-strength model systems; and . Both stress and strength are assumed to have an Inverse Lomax distribution with unknown shape parameters and a common known scale parameter. The increase and decrease in the real values of the two reliabilities are studied according to the increase and decrease in the distribution parameters. Two estimation methods are used to estimate the distribution parameters and the reliabilities, which are Maximum Likelihood and Regression. A comparison is made between the estimators based on a simulation study by the mean squared error criteria, which revealed that the maximum likelihood estimator works the best.

Influence of miscible CO2 flooding on wettability and asphaltene precipitation in Indiana Lime Stone
...Show More Authors

Carbon dioxide (CO2) flooding is an EOR technique in which carbon dioxide is injected into the reservoir to improve the oil recovery. The reservoir oil and rock properties are altered when carbon dioxide interacts with the oil and rock present in the reservoir. Carbon dioxide injection alters the oil and rock properties by causing reduction in oil viscosity, oil swelling and wettability alteration of the rock. This paper will present a proposal to study the wettability alteration in carbonate formations during miscible carbon dioxide flooding. In miscible carbon dioxide flooding, the injection pressure of carbon dioxide would be kept above the minimum miscibility pressure. Thus carbon dioxide is miscible with the oil present in the reservoi

Impact of nanoparticles on the CO2-brine interfacial tension at high pressure and temperature
...Show More Authors

Hypothesis Nanofluid flooding has been identified as a promising method for enhanced oil recovery (EOR) and improved Carbon geo-sequestration (CGS). However, it is unclear how nanoparticles (NPs) influence the CO2-brine interfacial tension (γ), which is a key parameter in pore-to reservoirs-scale fluid dynamics, and consequently project success. The effects of pressure, temperature, salinity, and NPs concentration on CO2-silica (hydrophilic or hydrophobic) nanofluid γ was thus systematically investigated to understand the influence of nanofluid flooding on CO2 geo-storage. Experiments Pendant drop method was used to measure CO2/nanofluid γ at carbon storage conditions using high pressure-high temperature optical cell. Findings CO2/nano
