A new achromatic glass for near infrared laser instruments
...Show More Authors

This research investigates new glasses which are best suitable for design of optical systems
working in the infrared region between 1.01 to 2.3μm. This work is extended to Oliva & Gennari
(1995,1998) research in which they found that the best known achromatic pairs are (BAF2-IRG2; SRF2-
IRG3; BAF2-IRG7; CAF2-IRGN6; BAF2-SF56A and BAF2-SF6). Schott will most probably stop the
production of these very little used and commercially uninteresting IRG glasses. In this work equally
good performances can be obtained by coupling BAF2, SRF2&CAF2 with standard glasses from Schott
or Ohara Company. The best new achromatic pairs found are (SRF2-S-TIH10; CAF2-S-LAL9; CAF2-SLAL13
and CAF2-S-BAH27). These new achromatic pairs are analyzed by using ZEMAX ray tracing
program to design and analyze the same F/2 camera used by Oliva and for the same near infrared region
(1.01-2.3μm). The results show that these pairs of glass have good performance in infrared design
applications.

Electrical properties of pure NiO and NiO:Au thin films prepared by using pulsed laser deposition
...Show More Authors

The electrical properties of pure NiO and NiO:Au Films which are
deposited on glass substrate with various dopant concentrations
(1wt.%, 2wt%, 3wt.% and 4wt.%) at room temperature 450 Co
annealing temperature will be presented. The results of the hall effect
showed that all the films were p-type. The Hall mobility decreases
while both carrier concentration and conductivity increases with the
increasing of annealing temperatures and doping percentage, Thus,
indicating the behavior of semiconductor, and also the D.C
conductivity from which the activation energy decrease with the
doping concentration increase and transport mechanism of the charge
carriers can be estimated.

...Show More Authors

In this work, the spectra for plasma glow produced by pulse
Nd:YAG laser (λ=532 and 1064nm) on Ag:Al alloy with same molar
ratio samples in distilled water were analyzed by studying the atomic
lines compared with aluminum and silver strong standard lines. The
effect of laser energies of the range 300 to 800 mJ on spectral lines,
produced by laser ablation, were investigated using optical
spectroscopy. The electron temperature was found to be increased
from 1.698 to 1.899 eV, while the electron density decreased from
2.247×1015 to 5.08×1014 cm-3 with increasing laser energy from 300
to 800 mJ with wavelength of 1064 nm. The values of electron
temperature using second harmonic frequency are greater than of<

Effect of pointer-laser radiation on the structure of Hg0.15Ag0.85Ba2Ca2Cu3-xAgx O6+δ superconducting compound
...Show More Authors

Samples of Hg0.15Ag0.85Ba2Ca2Cu3-xAgx O6+δ with x =0.0, 0.05, 0.1 and 0.15 were prepared using the standard solid-state reaction technique. The study used X-ray diffraction XRD analysis and a scanning electron microscope to examine how the partial substitution of silver in superconductors, along with 90 seconds of laser irradiation, affected their structures. The XRD analysis exposed a tetragonal structure for all samples, increasing the lattice constant a by the increasing of x compared to the sample with no silver substance. Also, it was found that changing the concentrations of silver in the samples leads to a change in density ρm and HTP (high-temperature phase). After exposure to laser radiation, there were variances in latti

Influence of working pressure and lasing energy of Al plasma in laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy
...Show More Authors

Aluminum plasma was generated by the irradiation of the target
with Nd: YAG laser operated at a wavelength of 1064 nm. The
effect of laser power density and the working pressure on spectral
lines generating by laser ablation, were detected by using optical
spectroscopy. The electron density was measured using the Stark
broadening of aluminum lines and the electron temperature by
Boltzmann plot method it is one of the methods that are used. The
electron temperature Te, electron density ne, plasma frequency
and Debye length increased with increasing the laser peak
power. The electron temperature decrease with increasing gas
pressure.
