Effect of Modified Hybrid Nanoparticles on the Properties of Base Oil
...Show More Authors

Nanomaterials have an excellent potential for improving the rheological and tribological properties of lubricating oil. In this study, oleic acid was used to surface-modify nanoparticles to enhance the dispersion and stability of Nanofluid. The surface modification was conducted for inorganic nanoparticles (NPs) TiO₂ and CuO with oleic acid (OA) surfactant, where oleic acid could render the surface of TiO2-CuO hydrophobic. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), and Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) were used to characterize the surface modification of NPs. The main objective of this study was to investigate the influence of adding modified TiO₂-CuO NPs with weight ratio 1:1 on thermal-physical properties such as kinematic viscosity, viscosity index (VI), pour point, and flash point of Iraqi base oil (40 stock) and nano-lubricating oil. The kinematic viscosity of base oil at 40 °C and 100°C increased with high concentrations of modified TiO₂-CuO NPs. The highest value of VI of base oil 40 stock at 0.8 wt. % of modified TiO₂-CuO NPs was 108.5. The results showed that the flashpoint value increased with the increased concentration of modified TiO₂-CuO NPs of base oil 40, where the highest value was 220 °C. The pour point of nano lubricating oil base with 0.8 wt. % of modified TiO₂-CuO NPs showed decreasing from -12 °C to -15 °C of base oil 40.

The Effect of Multiple Intelligences on the Acquisition of Science Operations by Middle School Students of Arabic Grammar
...Show More Authors

The current research aims to identify the multiple intelligences in the fourth students’ acquisition of the literary processes of Arabic grammar and to identify the differences in multiple intelligence according to gender (males - females). The study was determined for students of the fourth literary preparatory Al-Hakim Preparatory (for males) and Rabat Preparatory (for females) of the Second Karkh Education Directorate, topics from the Arabic grammar subject (past tense, present tense, imperative, subject, and object) for the first semester of the academic year 2019-2020. The results showed that there were no statistically significant differences at the significance level (0.05) between the average scores of the students who were tau

Effect of the application of IFRS 15 "Revenue from contracts with customers" on the quality of financial reporting
...Show More Authors

Abstract

This study aims at identifying the impact of the application of IFRS 15 "Revenue from contracts with customers on the quality of financial reporting, through application to faculty members in the accounting departments of Iraqi universities and auditors. The problem of the study was the multiplicity of accounting rules and standards Which deals with the issues of revenue recognition , as well as the lack of consistency of most of them with the common framework of financial accounting, which results in low quality of financial reporting in the current financial statements, where the formulation of one hypothesis was the lack of relationship of significant significance The application of IFRS 15 "Recognition of rev

Experimental Study of the Effect of Fuel Type on the Emitted Emissions from SIE at Idle Period
...Show More Authors

The present study investigated the impact of fuel kind on the emitted emissions at the idling period. Three types of available fuels in Iraq were tested. The tests conducted on ordinary gasoline with an octane number of 82, premium gasoline with an octane number of 92, and M20 (consist of 20% methanol and 80% regular gasoline). The 2 liters Mercedes-Benz engine was used in the experiments.

The results showed that engine operation at idle speed emits high levels of CO, CO2, HC, NOx and noise. The produced emission levels depend highly on fuel type. The premium gasoline (ON=92) represents the lower emissions level except for noise at all idling speed. Adding methanol to ordinary gasoline (ON=82) showed high levels of emi

The Effect of Four Lateral Methyl Groups on The Thermotropic Behavior of Azo Liquid Crystal Homologous Series
...Show More Authors

Twenty binary liquid crystalline mixture diagrams were investigated with polarizing microscope and differential scanning calorimeter (DSC). Four binary mixture diagrams were constructed to identify the smectic phase which is found to be the same in all components of the homologous series (4-n-alkoxy -2, 3, 5, 6-tetra methyl-4-n-alkoxy azo benzene) (nPA4M). The fifth binary mixture diagram was between the (6PA4M) and the reference liquid crystal compound, terephthlylidene-bis (4-n-butylanaline) (TBAA) to   identify the type of smectic mesophase of these compounds, and the results obtained were compared with the literature. To study the effect of the 4 methyl lateral groups on the thermotropic behavior of the (nPA4M) homol

The effect of background vacuum pressure on the length of gas discharge plasma by using Aluminum electrodes
...Show More Authors

Length of plasma generated by dc gas discharge under different vacuum pressures was studied experimentally. The cylindrical discharge tube of length 2m was evacuated under vacuum pressure range (0.1-0.5) mbar at constant external working dc voltage 1500V. It was found that the plasma length (L) increased exponentially with increasing of background vacuum air pressure. Empirical equation has been obtained between plasma length and gas pressure by using Logistic model of curve fitting. As vacuum pressure increases the plasma length increases due to collisions, ionizations, and diffusions of electrons and ions.

Effect Of Polar Component(1-Propanol) On The Relative Volatility Of The Binary System N-Hexane - Benzene
...Show More Authors

Vapor-liquid equilibrium data are presented for the binary systems n-hexane - 1-propanol, benzene - 1-propanol and n-hexane – benzene at 760 mm of mercury pressure. In addition ternary data are presented at selected compositions with respect to the 1-propanol in the 1-propanol, benzene, n-hexane system at 760 mmHg. The results indicate the relative volatility of n-hexane relative to benzene increases appreciably with addition of 1-propanol.

The Experimental and Theoretical Effect of Fire on the Structural Behavior of Laced Reinforced Concrete Deep Beams
...Show More Authors

A Laced Reinforced Concrete (LRC) structural element comprises continuously inclined shear reinforcement in the form of lacing that connects the longitudinal reinforcements on both faces of the structural element. This study conducted a theoretical investigation of LRC deep beams to predict their behavior after exposure to fire and high temperatures. Four simply supported reinforced concrete beams of 1500 mm, 200 mm, and 240 mm length, width, and depth, respectively, were considered. The specimens were identical in terms of compressive strength (  40 MPa) and steel reinforcement details. The same laced steel reinforcement ratio of 0.0035 was used. Three specimens were burned at variable durations and steady-state temperatures (one
