Optimal Operating Conditions for Adsorption of Heavy Metals from an Aqueous Solution by an Agriculture Waste
...Show More Authors

The aim of this work is to detect the best operating conditions that effect on the removal of Cu2+, Zn2+, and Ni2+ ions from aqueous solution using date pits in the batch adsorption experiments. The results have shown that the Al-zahdi Iraqi date pits demonstrated more efficient at certain values of operating conditions of adsorbent doses of 0.12 g/ml of aqueous solution, adsorption time 72 h, pH solution 5.5 ±0.2, shaking speed  300 rpm, and smallest adsorbent particle size needed for removal of metals.  At the same time the particle size of date pits has a little effect on the adsorption at low initial concentration of heavy metals. The adsorption of metals increases with increasing the initial of metal concentration while above the 85 ppm, the removal efficiency was decreased. The phenomenon of adsorption of heavy metals on to Al-Zahdi Iraqi Date pits is exothermic process. The maximum adsorption capacity according to the Langmuir equation was 0.21, 0.149, and 0.132 mmol/g for Cu2+, Zn2+, and Ni2+ respectively. The adsorption equilibrium was well described by the Freundlich model. The results of Freundlich constants indicated that the adsorption capacity and adsorption intensity of Copper is larger than the Zinc and Nickel. The intraparticle diffusion was involved is this process but it is not the controlling step. The results of this study may inspire to find the optimal operating conditions for adsorption and develop that with large-scale production to clean the polluted water with heavy metals.

Smart Libraries and Their Applications in The Arab World
...Show More Authors

The main aim of conducting this research is to identify the applications of Smart libraries in the Arab world. The Researcher relied on the documentary and Survey approach to collect information and data through the Internet, and to get to know these libraries. Then the Research came in three sections dealing with the first topic: The general framework of the study. The second topic deals with: introducing Smart libraries and indicating their types and characteristics. The Third topic dealt with the requirements of Smart libraries'application by identifying the basic components of it (Smart building, Smart Librarian , Smart devices, systems and software, Smart information sources, and Smart beneficiaries), and dealt with Smart libraries appl

Companies seek to enhance investor confidence by achieving the highest level of transparency in disclosure of financial and non-financial information (SASB standards) for Iraqi insurance companies listed on the financial market. The aim of the research is to identify the extent of the ability of financial and non-financial information to enhance transparency in reporting, which is reflected in Investor confidence. And the standards of sustainability development accounting issued by (SASB) through the electronic questionnaire that was distributed. Companies seek to achieve a set of goals, the most important of which is to enhance investor confidence by improving transparency in disclosure. Concerning the employment of financial an

RC5 Performance Enhancement Based on Parallel Computing
...Show More Authors

This study aims to enhance the RC5 algorithm to improve encryption and decryption speeds in devices with limited power and memory resources. These resource-constrained applications, which range in size from wearables and smart cards to microscopic sensors, frequently function in settings where traditional cryptographic techniques because of their high computational overhead and memory requirements are impracticable. The Enhanced RC5 (ERC5) algorithm integrates the PKCS#7 padding method to effectively adapt to various data sizes. Empirical investigation reveals significant improvements in encryption speed with ERC5, ranging from 50.90% to 64.18% for audio files and 46.97% to 56.84% for image files, depending on file size. Abstract The research investigates in detail the fascinating story of its title character, which may work as an allegory for Africa itself in its past. Ama Ata Aidoo is miscellaneous writers who wrote in different literary genre like drama , short stories novel and , poetry and criticism . She is also an active feminist. Aidoo is against the colonial practice and its influence on African minds. Aidoo's play Anowa confronts painful issues in Africa's past, mostly those of the slave trade. She goes further to tackle issues of patriarchal domination and African feminism, like the relationships between individuals and society, women and motherhood, men and women, husbands and wives, mothers and daughters, and above all the future invasion

Using Spatial Videos, Google Earthtm and Geographic Information System to Dynamically Monitor Built Environment Changes In a Challenging Environment: Baghdad, Iraq.
...Show More Authors

Urban expansion and its environmental and safety effects are one of the critical information needed for future development planning, safety considerations and environmental management. This work used two methods to monitor urban expansion and it's environmental and safety effects, the first is based on Google Maps for the years 2002 and 2010, and the second was the usage of spatial videos for the year 2013. Although the usage of satellite images is critical to know and investigate the general situation and the total effects of the expansion on a large piece of area, but the Spatial videos do a very detailed fine scale investigation, site conditions regarding both environmental and safety cannot be easily distinguished fr

A Proposal Algorithm to Solve Delay Constraint Least Cost Optimization Problem
...Show More Authors

Traditionally, path selection within routing is formulated as a shortest path optimization problem. The objective function for optimization could be any one variety of parameters such as number of hops, delay, cost...etc. The problem of least cost delay constraint routing is studied in this paper since delay constraint is very common requirement of many multimedia applications and cost minimization captures the need to
distribute the network. So an iterative algorithm is proposed in this paper to solve this problem. It is appeared from the results of applying this algorithm that it gave the optimal path (optimal solution) from among multiple feasible paths (feasible solutions).
