The corrosion inhibition of aluminum alloy 5083 by an environment friendly compound called (8- Hydroxyquinoline) in
acidic and alkaline solutions of pH (2 and 12) respectively were studied using weight loss and polarization techniques.
Also to examine the main and combined effects of the inhibitor concentration, pH, and contact time using factorial
experimental design. Results show that corrosion rate decreased with increasing both inhibitor concentration and
contact time and increased with increasing pH value. The polarization curves show that 8-hydroxyquinoline is a
cathodic inhibitor
This study focused on treatment of real wastewater rejected from leather industry in Al-Nahrawan city in Iraq by Electrocoagulation (EC) process followed by Reverse Osmosis (RO) process. The successive treatment was applied due to high concentration of Cr3+ ions (about 1600 ppm) rejected in wastewater of this industry and for applying EC with moderate power consumption and better results of produced water. In Electrocoagulation process (EC), the effect of NaCl concentration (1.5, 3 g/l), current density (C.D.) (15-25 mA/cm2), electrolysis time (1-2 h), and distance between electrodes (E.D.) (1-2 cm) were examined in a batch cell by implementing Taguchi experimental design. According to the results obtained from multiple regression and signa

Estrogen deficiency, abnormality in bone matrix components and interleukins expression can impact on bone homeostasis which gradually paved to osteoclastogenesis over activation leading to bone loss. A current case-control study was designed to explain the alteration in certain biochemicals, bone matrix components, immunological and molecular parameters that which accompanied with OP in the postmenopausal women. The period of study's investigation was from December 2022 to July 2023. All participants provided written informed consent, and the study was approved by Department of Biology, College of Science, U

The film was heated at various annealing temperature under vacuum (Ta =473, 523 and K). Some of physical properties of prepared films such as structural and optical properties were investigated. The patterns of X-ray diffraction analysis showed that the structure of CdTe powder and all films were polycrystalline and consist of a mixture of cubic and hexagonal phases and preferred orientation at (111) direction.
The optical measurements showed that un annealed and annealed CdTe films had direct energy gap (Eg). The Eg increased with increasing Ta. The refractive index and the real p
In this work, the role of s ubs trate temperature in the range (293-423)K on the structure and microstructure of CuInSTe thin films was investigated. The results showed that the structure was amorphous for films prepared at ambient temperature Ts=293Kwhile it was polycrys talline for films prepared at high temperature. The grain s ize and roughness increased with increasing substrate temperature. The frequency and temperature dependencies upon AC conductivity were investigated in the frequency range 100Hz-10MHz and temperature of heat treatment in the range of 303-453K. The AC activation energy was found to increase from 0.1132 to 0.1258 eV with increas ing s ubs trate temperature from 293 to 423K and decreas e to 0.0962 eV with inc

Recent advancements in nanotechnology have introduced various nanomaterials such as alumina (NA), carbon nanotubes (CNTs), and silica (NS) as potential asphalt modifiers. These materials possess unique properties that address challenges related to asphalt fatigue. However, their effectiveness depends on proper dispersion and mixing techniques. This review examines the mixing methods used for each nanomaterial to ensure uniform distribution within the asphalt matrix and maximize performance benefits. Recent research findings are synthesized to elucidate how these nanomaterials and their mixing proce

The association of LC with tobacco smoking has been extensively investigated, but no studies have focused on the Arab ethnic- ity. Previously, we examined the association between genetic polymorphisms among Phase I and Phase II metabolism genes and the risk of LC. Here, we extend the data by examining the correlation of OGG1 Ser326Cys combined with CYP1A1 (Ile462Val and MspI) and GSTP1 (Ile105Val and Ala103Val) polymorphisms with the risk of LC. The aim of this research is controlling the amount of the robotic hand catching force using the artificial muscle wire as an actuator to achieve the desired response of the robotic hand in order to catch different things without destroying or dropping them; where the process is to be similar to that of human hand catching way. The proper selection of the amount of the catching force is achieved through out simulation using the fuzzy control technique. The mechanism of the arrangement of the muscle wires is proposed to achieve good force selections. The results indicate the feasibility of using this proposed technique which mimics human reasoning where as the weight of the caught peace increases, the force increases also with approximatel
