A total of 294 specimens of hard ticks (141 male and 153 female) were collected from dog (Canis familiaris) 22 (13 / 9) specimens, from red fox (Vulpes vulpes) 97 (45/52) specimens, from Asiatic jackal (Canis aureus) 170 (80 / 90) specimens and from wolf (Canis lupus) 5 (3/2) specimens; that were caught from the middle, western and southern regions of Iraq. Surveying 59 references concerning the occurrence of the monogeneans of the family Diplozoidae parasitizing fishes of Iraq showed the occurrence of 15 valid species of this family which included one species of Diplozoon, one species of Eudiplozoon and 13 species of Paradiplozoon. In addition to these species, some unidentified adult and larval (diporpa larvae) specimens of the genus Diplozoon were reported from 12 fish hosts among which four fish species showed no infection with any of the nominated diplozoid species while the others showed mixed diplozoid infections. The optimum conditions for production of fibrinolytic protease from an edible mushroom Pleurotus ostreatus grown on the solid medium , Sus medium, composed of Sus wastes (produced from extracted medicinal plant Glycyrrhiza glabra) were determined. Addition of 5% of Soya bean seeds meal in Sus medium recorded a maximum fibrinolytic protease activity resulting in 7.7 units / ml. However, core data are often limited due to their high cost and operational constraints, leading to significant uncertainty in uncored intervals.
