Preparation of PPSU Hollow Fiber Nanofiltration Membranes for Nanofiltration Application

PPSU hollow fiber nanofiltration membranes are prepared by applying two concentrations and various extrusion pressures according to the phase inversion method. Cross-sectional area and outer structures were characterized by using scanning electron microscope (SEM) and atomic force microscopy (AFM). In additional to the pore size distribution, either the mean roughness or the mean pore size of the PPSU hollow fiber surfaces was evaluated by AFM. It was found that the morphology of the PPSU fibers had both sponge-like and finger-like structures through different extrusion pressures and PPSU concentrations. The mean pore size and mean roughness for inner and outer surfaces were seen to be decreased with the increase of extrusion pressure at two different PPSU concentrations. Moreover, the lead ion rejection was significantly improved from 19 to 78 % with increasing the extrusion pressure from 2.5 to 3 bar at 25 wt.% PPSU concentration.

Preparation and Characterization of New Mixed Ligand Complexes of (p-Methyl Anilino)-p-Chloro Phenyl Acetonitrile and Ethylene Diamine

New mixed ligand complexes of some metal ions Zn(II), Cd(II) and Hg(II) were prepared by reacting with mixture of two bidentate ligands [ HL = (P-methyl anilino) –P– chloro phenyl acetonitrile and en = ethylene diamine] in a molar ratio of 1:1:1[ M : HL : en] in ethanol . The ligand HL was previously prepared by Strecker’s procedure which includes the reaction of p- toluidine with P- chlorobenzaldehyde in the presence of KCN in acidic medium. The structures of new compounds were identified by elemental analyses, atomic absorption and thermal analyses TG/DTG in addition to FTIR and U.V-VIS. Spectra. The electrical conductivity measurements of metal complexes were also determined. From the obtained data the octahedral structure was s

Design and Characterization of New Dinuclear Macrocyclic Dithiocarbamate Complexes by the Preparation of a Free Ligand Derived from Isopropylamine

The synthesis and structural characterization of new dithiocarbamate (DTC) ligand and some of its dinuclear transition metal complexes are described. The free dithiocarbamate ligand was prepared through several synthetic routes, including Schiff-base formation. The reaction of 2-aminopropane with terephthaldehyde leads to the formation of Schiff_base which is reduced by methanolic NaBH4 to the corresponding secondary diamine. Diamine( N,N'_ (1,4 phenylenebis (methylene)) bis(propan-2 amine)) reacts with (CS2) in a basic solution of (KOH) to provide the corresponding bis(dithiocarbamate) free_ligand, which undergoes complexation with the appropriate metal (II) chlori

The Effect of Clare's Plan on Female Students' Achievement in the History Subject in the Institute of Teachers' Preparation

Teaching through the system of personal learning, known as (Clare's plan) is amongst the most prominent plans which depend on self-education, as it received worldwide recognition. The plan lets the learner achieve learning by depending on himself after being familiar with the educational goals given to him, then he starts to solve the exercises and the drills accompanying the unit. After that, he checks his achievement by answering the self-evaluation tests. This method offers more opportunities for personal interaction than do the traditional systems, and individual leaning is a methodical expression aims at taking care of the learner and making him the locus of the processes of teaching and learning.

Removal of Aniline Blue from Textile Wastewater using Electrocoagulation with the Application of the Response Surface Approach

This paper investigated the treatment of textile wastewater polluted with aniline blue (AB) by electrocoagulation process using stainless steel mesh electrodes with a horizontal arrangement. The experimental design involved the application of the response surface methodology (RSM) to find the mathematical model, by adjusting the current density (4-20 mA/cm2), distance between electrodes (0.5-3 cm), salt concentration (50-600 mg/l), initial dye concentration (50-250 mg/l), pH value (2-12 ) and experimental time (5-20 min). The results showed that time is the most important parameter affecting the performance of the electrocoagulation system. Maximum removal efficiency (96 %) was obtained at a current density of 20 mA/cm2, distance be

THE ROLE OF DYNAMIC PROGRAMMING IN THE DISTRIBUTION OF INVESTMENT ALLOCATIONS BETWEEN PRODUCTION LINES WITH AN APPLICATION

At present, the ability to promote national economy by adjusting to political, economic, and technological variables is one of the largest challenges faced by organization productivity. This challenge prompts changes in structure and line productivity, given that cash has not been invested. Thus, the management searches for investment opportunities that have achieved the optimum value of the annual increases in total output value of the production line workers in the laboratory. Therefore, the application of dynamic programming model is adopted in this study by addressing the division of investment expenditures to cope with market-dumping policy and to strive non-stop production at work.

Drill Bit Selection Optimization Based on Rate of Penetration: Application of Artificial Neural Networks and Genetic Algorithms
Abstract
The drill bit is the most essential tool in drilling operation and optimum bit selection is one of the main challenges in planning and designing new wells. Conventional bit selections are mostly based on the historical performance of similar bits from offset wells. In addition, it is done by different techniques based on offset well logs. However, these methods are time consuming and they are not dependent on actual drilling parameters. The main objective of this study is to optimize bit selection in order to achieve maximum rate of penetration (ROP). In this work, a model that predicts the ROP was developed using artificial neural networks (ANNs) based on 19 input parameters. For the
... Show More

Building a mathematical model of the transportation problem under the dynamics of demand restrictions with practical application

Abstract\

In this research we built a mathematical model of the transportation problem for data of General Company for Grain Under the environment of variable demand ,and situations of incapableness to determining the supply required quantities as a result of economic and commercial reasons, also restrict flow of grain amounts was specified to a known level by the decision makers to ensure that the stock of reserves for emergency situations that face the company from decrease, or non-arrival of the amount of grain to silos , also it took the capabilities of the tanker into consideration and the grain have been restricted to avoid shortages and lack of processing capability, Function has been adopted
