Abstract

Paraffin wax is utilized for the heat storage applications taking advantage from the high stored latent heat during the phase change (from solid to fluid) period. What isn't right with this procedure is that the wax has a little heat transfer rate because of its low thermal conductivity. The thermal conductivity improvement of the paraffin wax has been examined utilizing nano-material with high thermal conductivity. In the recent study, (Al₂O₃) nanoparticles with weights of 1, 2, and 3% of the paraffin wax were added to the paraffin wax. In this research, a non-thermal plasma system was designed and a non-thermal plasma needle was manufactured for argon gas operating at normal atmospheric pressure. The electrical description of this system studied by using two different values of voltages (4.9,8) kV. Where the results showed the small amount of electrical current consumed by the system of plasma needle up to several microns of amps, and the value of the electrical current increase with the increasing gas flow, as well as the results, showed that happen a breakdown voltage at (8) kV when gas flow (4 l/min) causing a slight decrease in the electrical current value.

A solar cell was manufactured from local materials and was dyed using dyes extracted from different organic plants. The solar cell glass slides were coated with a nano-porous layer of Titanium Oxide and infused with two types of acids, Nitric acid and Acetic acid. The organic dyes were extracted from Pomegranate, Hibiscus, Blackberry and Blue Flowers. They were then tested and a comparison was made for the amount of voltage they generate when exposed to sunlight.
