The foreguts of a total of 515 fish of Chondrostoma regium (Heckel, 1843) (locally: Bala’aot Malloky) were studied. These fish were collected from Tigris River at Salah Al-Deen Province (between Al-Hagag & Yathrib) for 20 months between March and October of the next year. Detritus, plant in origin materials (19.6%, 23.0% & 24.9%); green and blue green algae, mostly Cladophora, Cosmarium and Merismpedia sp. (17.1%, 12.9% & 12.2%) and diatoms, mostly Diatoma, Chanathes, Amphora and Cyulbella sp. (16.9%, 8.8% & 8.2%) were the main food categories taken by these fishes according to occurrence (O%), volumetric methods (V%) and ranking index (R%). Statistical control charts are widely used in industry for process and measurement control . in this paper we study the use of markov chain approach in calculating the average run length (ARL) of cumulative sum (Cusum) control chart for defect the shifts in the mean of process , and exponentially weighted moving average (EWMA) control charts for defect the shifts for process mean and , the standard deviation . This study was done to find the effect of Tigris-Therthar channel on the water quality of Tigris River to face the climate change which causes decreasing in water resources, in addition to decreasing in its quality. Nine stations were chosen located on Tigris River, Tigris-Therthar channel, Groundwater, and Therthar lake. The results indicated that the TDS increased in summer season, and the effect of Tigris-Therthar cannel was limited, also the effect of groundwater was limited, but there was an indication refers of possibility of increasing these effects on the quality of water. The study recommends observing the Tigris River through a programme to identify any change in water in future.

  Quantitative and qualitative composition of benthic invertebrate communities was studied during the period from January to December2012 at four stations that were selected on the Tigris River at Baghdad Province.
