Optical CDMA Coded STBC Based on Chaotic Technique in FSO Communication Systems
...Show More Authors

Free-Space Optical (FSO) can provide high-speed communications when the effect of turbulence is not serious. However, Space-Time-Block-Code (STBC) is a good candidate to mitigate this seriousness. This paper proposes a hybrid of an Optical Code Division Multiple Access (OCDMA) and STBC in FSO communication for last mile solutions, where access to remote areas is complicated. The main weakness effecting a FSO link is the atmospheric turbulence. The feasibility of employing STBC in OCDMA is to mitigate these effects. The current work evaluates the Bit-Error-Rate (BER) performance of OCDMA operating under the scintillation effect, where this effect can be described by the gamma-gamma model. The most obvious finding to emerge from the analysis

Maximum mouth opening measurement in relation to maximum bite force among children
...Show More Authors

Objective: This research aimed to study the relation between maximal bite force (MBF) and maximum mouth opening among 12-year-old school children. Methods: In this cross-sectional study, a total of 400 children aged 12 years (194 boys and 206 girls) were examined. The MBF for the right and left side, as well as the anterior region, were evaluated for all children. The MMO was measured using an electronic digital caliper. To analyze the data path analysis method was used. Results: Boys showed a higher MMO of 48.797 ± 6.500 than girls (46.710 ± 5.926 mm). The MMO increased with increasing MBF, with significant differences between females and males. Conclusion: The MMO was higher in boys than in girls. Gender plays a significant ro

Extrapituitary prolactin –1149 G/T promoter polymorphism in some rheumatoid arthritis patients
...Show More Authors

Background: Prolactin is a hormone, as well as a cytokine which is synthesized and secreted from the anterior pituitary gland and various extra pituitary sites including immune cells under control of a superdistal promoter that contains a single nucleotide polymorphism -1149 G/T. Rheumatoid Arthritis has been associated with increased serum prolactin levels. Objectives: To investigate the association of the extra pituitary -1149 G/T promoter polymorphism among Iraqi rheumatoid arthritis patients and prolactin levels. Methods: We tested 73 patients with rheumatoid arthritis and 40 healthy individuals. The DNA samples were genotyped using the Polymerase Chain Reaction-Restriction fragment Length Polymorphism method and the levels of prolacti

The follower of the art of Arabic calligraphy accurately identifies three prominent dimensions that have framed the dimensions of this art, the functional dimension and the aesthetic dimension, the last of which is the expressive dimension, as it is an art that does not exhaust its aesthetic and indicative purposes because of its possibilities and characteristics that help it to form with any entity designed by calligrapher, with the expressive dimension of the most important of those The dimensions that can be studied within multiple variables, the most important of which are the significance of the text, the spatial and formal organization of the calligraphic functions and the power of the idea from which the calligraphic formation eme

HEPATITIS B VIRUS GENOTYPES IN IRAQI PATIENTS WITH CHRONIC HEPATITIS B INFECTION
...Show More Authors

Hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection is a serious disease of the liver and signifies a major worldwide health concern. HBV Genotyping is vital for further epidemiological study, predicting the disease outcome and response to treatment. The current study aimed to determine hepatitis B virus genotypes in patients with chronic hepatitis B, and to validate possible associations with the baseline characteristics of the disease. A total of 90 patients with chronic hepatitis B infection were enrolled in this study. Liver function tests, hepatitis B virus markers and DNA viral load were done using routine standardized procedures. HBV genotyping was performed using real time PCR. Genotype D was the most predominant in 64 (71.1%) of samples, while

Employing semantic coding to build meaning in action films: ابراهيم خلف جاسم
...Show More Authors

Action films employ many artistic and literary elements that contribute greatly to building the general meaning of the film and push the wheel of the film forward. The element of mystery and suspense is used as two basic elements in action films. The cinematic language in action films depends on global coding, which is not models as it might be. It is based on logic, rather as units that aspire to morphology and not their homogeneity as the physical sense, but as the logical harmony of interpretive authority and enlightenment and in action films as a field of communication and a field in its origin in which the signifier contrasts with the perceptions of the meaning and in it takes a certain number of units preventing each other and thro

Strangeness Concept in Commercial Advertisement Design: يوسف مهدي سعيد -سحر علي سرحان
...Show More Authors

Strangeness in design generally and in advertisement design specifically is manifested in various images and creative propositions and shapes that depart the traditional and conventional framework to elevate design to virtual intellectual worlds related to the inspirational and imaginative range of the creative designer, which makes the forms of strangeness a means for persuasion and astonishment which achieves the functional and aesthetic objectives of the advertisement. The two researchers identified the research question "what is the concept of strangeness in the commercial advertisements design? The research objective has been determined by identifying the concept of strangeness in the commercial advertisement design. Strangen
