A Computationally Efficient Gradient Algorithm for Downlink Training Sequence Optimization in FDD Massive MIMO Systems
...Show More Authors

Future wireless networks will require advance physical-layer techniques to meet the requirements of Internet of Everything (IoE) applications and massive communication systems. To this end, a massive MIMO (m-MIMO) system is to date considered one of the key technologies for future wireless networks. This is due to the capability of m-MIMO to bring a significant improvement in the spectral efficiency and energy efficiency. However, designing an efficient downlink (DL) training sequence for fast channel state information (CSI) estimation, i.e., with limited coherence time, in a frequency division duplex (FDD) m-MIMO system when users exhibit different correlation patterns, i.e., span distinct channel covariance matrices, is to date very challenging. Although advanced iterative algorithms have been developed to address this challenge, they exhibit slow convergence speed and thus deliver high latency and computational complexity. To overcome this challenge, we propose a computationally efficient conjugate gradient-descent (CGD) algorithm based on the Riemannian manifold in order to optimize the DL training sequence at base station (BS), while improving the convergence rate to provide a fast CSI estimation for an FDD m-MIMO system. To this end, the sum rate and the computational complexity performances of the proposed training solution are compared with the state-of-the-art iterative algorithms. The results show that the proposed training solution maximizes the achievable sum rate performance, while delivering a lower overall computational complexity owing to a faster convergence rate in comparison to the state-of-the-art iterative algorithms.

An efficient multistage CBIR based on Squared Krawtchouk-Tchebichef polynomials
...Show More Authors
Abstract
Image databases are increasing exponentially because of rapid developments in social networking and digital technologies. To search these databases, an efficient search technique is required. CBIR is considered one of these techniques. This paper presents a multistage CBIR to address the computational cost issues while reasonably preserving accuracy. In the presented work, the first stage acts as a filter that passes images to the next stage based on SKTP, which is the first time used in the CBIR domain. While in the second stage, LBP and Canny edge detectors are employed for extracting texture and shape features from the query image and images in the newly constructed database. The p
... A new modified differential evolution algorithm scheme-based linear frequency modulation radar signal de-noising
...Show More Authors

The main intention of this study was to investigate the development of a new optimization technique based on the differential evolution (DE) algorithm, for the purpose of linear frequency modulation radar signal de-noising. As the standard DE algorithm is a fixed length optimizer, it is not suitable for solving signal de-noising problems that call for variability. A modified crossover scheme called rand-length crossover was designed to fit the proposed variable-length DE, and the new DE algorithm is referred to as the random variable-length crossover differential evolution (rvlx-DE) algorithm. The measurement results demonstrate a highly efficient capability for target detection in terms of frequency response and peak forming that was isola

Common Fixed Point of a Finite-step Iteration Algorithm Under Total Asymptotically Quasi-nonexpansive Maps
...Show More Authors

Throughout this paper, a generic iteration algorithm for a finite family of total asymptotically quasi-nonexpansive maps in uniformly convex Banach space is suggested. As well as weak / strong convergence theorems of this algorithm to a common fixed point are established. Finally, illustrative numerical example by using Matlab is presented.

Estimating Water Quality along the Tigris River, Iraq: A Novel Approach Using Gravitational Search Algorithm
...Show More Authors

The quality of drinking water is considered among the most urgent issues worldwide nowadays. Ensuring safe water for human consumption remains the highest priority, while challenges also persist in meeting the water quality needs for industrial and agricultural uses. Most of the relevant studies lack accuracy in assessing water quality. Therefore, this study aims to forecast the quality of drinking water along the Tigris River in Iraq following a new approach. A developed forecasting model that utilizes the gravitational search algorithm (GSA) was deployed. The heuristic optimization tool was utilized for the prediction of the water quality index (WQI) in the research area. Out of twelve water stations, 575 samples were gather

The Decent Work Impact in Enhancing Job Immersion/ An Applied Research in Labour and Vocational Training Directorate
...Show More Authors

The research aims to identify decent work and its impact in enhancing job immersion. The questionnaire was adopted as a tool to analyze the sample responses of (81) workers to represent an estimated response rate of (88 per cent) out of the total population of (92) individuals. The research adopted descriptive-analytical approach, and reliability calculation, arithmetic means standard deviations, relative importance, and regression analysis adopted on SPSS v.25. The conclusion shows that there is a medium correlation between decent work and job immersion, and there is a low impact of decent work with its dimensions in job immersion; extract the most important acceptable components for job from the sample point of view about the o

Recently, that there has been a decline in the levels of female players for this event in recent years compared to developments in the world, as this activity depends to achieve the highest level of performance on the physical capabilities and physiological indicators of the player who It is reflected in the achievement, which results in the loss of time for Iraqi female runners compared to the world champions in the (100) meter hurdles competition, which reflects on the level of achievement. The two researchers used the experimental approach in addressing the research problem, and the experimental design used the method of the two equal groups, the two experiments with the pre and post-tests. This study aimed to identify the effect of resistance training on the biomechanics and accuracy of serve receiving skills in volleyball. The research community was composed of 26 young volleyball players of Baghdad volleyball clubs. A total of 4 players were selected for the preliminary experiment, while 14 participants were recruited as the main sample for the study. In the present study, a set of resistance exercises were designed by the researchers for the volleyball players of the sample. Exercises were performed by the sample participants during the course of study. The biomechanical variables considered in the present study were: Preparation moment (shoulder joint angle, hip angle, knee joint angle), moment of pr
