Synthesis and Characterization Complexes of 2- Thiotolylurea with Matel Salts.
...Show More Authors

Complexes of some metal ions with 2-thiotolylurea were prepared in ethanolic medium using (1:1) (Metal : Ligand) ratio yielded series of neutral complexes as the general formula [M(L)Cl2]. The prepared complexes were identified by atomic absorption FT.IR, UV-Visble spectra, molar conductivity and magnetic properties. From the above data the tetrahedral structure was suggested for all complexes.

A Hybrid Method of Linguistic and Statistical Features for Arabic Sentiment Analysis
...Show More Authors

Sentiment analysis refers to the task of identifying polarity of positive and negative for particular text that yield an opinion. Arabic language has been expanded dramatically in the last decade especially with the emergence of social websites (e.g. Twitter, Facebook, etc.). Several studies addressed sentiment analysis for Arabic language using various techniques. The most efficient techniques according to the literature were the machine learning due to their capabilities to build a training model. Yet, there is still issues facing the Arabic sentiment analysis using machine learning techniques. Such issues are related to employing robust features that have the ability to discrimina

Spectrophotometric Method for the Estimation of Ceftriaxone in Pure Form and Pharmaceuticals
...Show More Authors

Ceftriaxone sodium were one of the widely antibacterial drugs used. Azo dye derivatization of diazonium salt that formed via the reaction between ceftriaxone with hydrochloric acid and sodium nitrite was developed for the on-research drug analysis then coupling with each one 2,5-dimethylphenol (2,5-DMP) and 4-tertbutylphenol (4-TBP) respectively in the alkaline media. The developed diazonium coupling methods include an optimization study. The results show a limit of detection and limit of quantification 0.482, 0.284 µg/mL, and 1.607, 0.945 µg/mL using 2,5-DMP and 4-TBP reagents respectively. Moreover, the recovery % obtained was 100.89%, and 103.37% at linear concentration range 3.0 – 50, and 10 – 30 µg/mL, with mo

Chemical and Biological Study of Iraqi Kurdistan Chamomile Flower (Matricaria recutita L)
...Show More Authors

In this study, the chamomile flowers (Matricaria recutitaL) which grow in Iraqi Kurdistan region during the seasons of (2008) are collected. The percentage of essential oil was determined by using steam distillation and the extraction of flowers performed with petroleum ether (70-80) ºC and methanol 70% using ultrasonic extraction. Total phenolic compounds were determined from methanol extracts by using Folin-Ciocalteu method. The extracts were evaluated by thin layer chromatography, ultraviolet absorption and the biological activities were evaluated through their antibacterial action against two types of bacteria using hole method. The flowers showed a composition of 0.071% ash, 0.4% essential oil, 3.2% non oily compounds, 4% oil, 1.9% mo

A total of 228 domestic and wild animals, including sheep, goats, cows, buffaloes, camels, horses, donkeys, dogs, cats, wild hares, Asiatic jackals, and red foxes were examined for ixodid ticks in the central region of Iraq. Nine species of ixodid ticks belong to two genera namely Hyalomma anatolicum Koch, 1844, H. excavatum Koch, 1844, H. turanicum Pomerantsef, 1946,  H. scupense Delpy, 1946,  H. dromedarii Koch, 1844, H. schulzei Olenev, 1931, Rhipicephalus annulatus (Say, 1821), R. turanicus Pomerantsef & al., 1940 and R. leporis Pomerantsef, 1946 were recovered. Their distribution among hosts and infestation rates were di

Effects of NAA and BA on Lily (lilium spp.) Propagation by Scaling
...Show More Authors

The experiment was executed at the Botanical Garden- college of Science, university of Baghdad, Iraq. The period was from November 2016 to March 2017, on the scales of lilium ( Peral Carolina) belonging to the asiatic hybrids imported from the Netherlands. The scales of lily treated with naphthyl acetic acid (NAA)(0,25,50) mg/l and benzyl aminopurine (BA)(0,10,20) mg/l twice after planting to improve flowering characters of hybrid lily cultures . It was observed that at the concentration BA 20 mg/l and NAA 50 mg/l increased the number of bulbues formed about 0.8% and the number of bulbs as 11.3%, while the root length decreased with the same concentration about 5.7%. The fresh weight of the buds, the length of the buds and the number of

Change detection of remotely sensed image using NDVI subtractive and classification methods.
...Show More Authors

Change detection is a technology ascertaining the changes of
specific features within a certain time Interval. The use of remotely
sensed image to detect changes in land use and land cover is widely
preferred over other conventional survey techniques because this
method is very efficient for assessing the change or degrading trends
of a region. In this research two remotely sensed image of Baghdad
city gathered by landsat -7and landsat -8 ETM+ for two time period
2000 and 2014 have been used to detect the most important changes.
Registration and rectification the two original images are the first
preprocessing steps was applied in this paper. Change detection using
NDVI subtractive has been computed, subtrac

This study is based on samples taken from one of the main branches of Tigris River; Gharaf River, at Kut Barrage in Wasit Governorate, Iraq. It  aimes to study the quantity and quality of the mollusca Invertebrates; furthermore. The study evaluates the molluscan biodiversity of the rivers by using appropriate biodiversity indexes. Thus, the first of its kind study in the evaluation of the diversity of mollusc in Gharaf River assemblage.  Monthly samples were collected randomly from the river mud, for 12 months, from January till December 2016. During the collection process; 5 stations on the river were chosen for sampling with 10(±1) Km distance between each of the stations, including Wasit Governorate. The study showed the

Effect of Age and Gender on QRS Complex Amplitude in Healthy Adults.
...Show More Authors

Background: There is controversy about the upper normal value of QRS complex amplitude in adult population under the age of 40 years. Most of the left ventricular hypertrophy voltage criteria were designed or tested for people above 40 years. In addition to age, QRS amplitude is also affected by gender and racial factors.

Objectives: To evaluate the impact of age on QRS amplitude in each gender separately in healthy adults.

Patients and Methods: Electrocardiograms from 563 overtly healthy adults (386 male and 177 female) aged 18-40 years were obtained using Cardios PC based ECG machine, 12-lead ECGs were recorded and QRS amplitude was measured as the sum of (SV1+RV5) and
