How Do You Treat a Severely Resorbed Mandibular Ridge?
...Show More Authors

Abstract: Residual ridge resorption is chronic, progressive, irreversible and cumulative condition associated with teeth loss. Management of a residual ridge with severe resorption to fulfill the patient’s esthetic and functional requirements is quite difficult for the practitioner and also in the construction of an acceptable appliance. As the height of the edentulous ridge reduces the mandibular denture will be improperly function. Severe resorption of the mandibular alveolar ridge may cause instability and discomfort of the convention acrylic resin denture. Dealing with this condition requires clinical skills and knowledge. Treating the severely resorbed mandibular ridge is a challenging effort for prosthodontics. This research presents a case report on neutral zone impression technique used for treating a completely edentulous patient with resorbed ridges, in addition to using four dental implants in order to get the benefits of both occlusal harmony from the neutral zone which located the teeth in it and the support, retention from implants in bone. The use of combination of a neutral zone impression technique and the implant supported over denture for the treatment of severely resorbed mandibular ridge result in patient satisfied with the enhancement in denture retention, stability, and support.

PMMA/ Anthracene Film as a Low Doses Dosimeter
...Show More Authors

A prepared PMMA/Anthracene film of thickness 70μm was irradiated under reduced pressure ~10-3 to 60Coγ-ray dose of (0.1mrad-10krad) range. The optical properties of the irradiated films were evaluated spectrophotometrically. The absorption spectrum showed induced absorption changes in the 200-400nm range. At 359nm, where there is a decrease in radiation-induced absorption, the optical density as a function of absorbed dose is linear from 10mrad-10Krad.It can therefore, be used as radiation dosimeter for gamma ray in the range 10mrd-10krad

Hyperbole in poetry: A case study of exaggeration
...Show More Authors

The present study identifies the linguistic means used to realize hyperbole in poetry as a rhetorical device that makes readers experience the beauty of poetic language. To achieve the aim of the study, a model of analysis in accordance with Spitzbardt (1963), Norrick (1982), and McCarthy & Carter (2004) is used. The analysis of data under investigation reveals that hyperbole is a crucial aid used by poets to portrait the real world as imaginative. In conclusion, poets prefer using lexico-grammatical repertoires than lexico-grammatical configurations. Keywords

Abstract<p>Deaf and dumb peoples are suffering difficulties most of the time in communicating with society. They use sign language to communicate with each other and with normal people. But Normal people find it more difficult to understand the sign language and gestures made by deaf and dumb people. Therefore, many techniques have been employed to tackle this problem by converting the sign language to a text or a voice and vice versa. In recent years, research has progressed steadily in regard to the use of computers to recognize and translate the sign language. This paper reviews significant projects in the field beginning with important steps of sign language translation. These projects can b</p> ... Show More
