Association of SCARB1 Gene Expression with Chronic Myeloid Leukemia Progression in a Sample of Iraqi Patients
...Show More Authors

The present research design examines the relationship between SCARB1 gene expression and the progression of chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) in Iraqi patients. The variations in gene expression between patients with CML and healthy controls were investigated. The gender and age correlations with CML patients were included, as was the association of gene expression folding of the SCARB1 gene with clinical data (WBC, RBC, hemoglobin, platelets, and BCR-ABL gene). The results displayed a significant difference in the mean gene expression level (∆Ct) of the CML group when compared to the matching ∆Ct values in the healthy control group. The gene expression folding of the SCARB1 gene indicates considerable changes in expression, wh

Association of Admission Serum Resistin Level with Acute ST-Segment Elevation Myocardial Infarction in Iraqi Patients
...Show More Authors

Human resistin is an adipokine, with a possible link to coronary heart disease.A few studies were done about resistin in acute phase of ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) especially in Iraqi patients. Accordingly we design a study to investigate the association between resistin concentration and acute phase of STEMI in Iraqi patients.

The present study was carried out at Al-Yarmouk Teaching Hospital from December 2011 until June 2012. Serum resistin levels were measured in 50 patients with acute STEMI (mean age: 58.16 ± 11.73 years) at the first 12 hours of admission and 34 normal controls (mean age: 53.98 ± 15.46 years) matched for age, sex and other risk factors.

Association of Iron Status in Follicular Fluid with Pregnancy Outcomes in Infertile Women Undergoing IVF/ICSI
...Show More Authors

Iron status may influence the outcome of infertile women under the intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) technique of in vitro fertilization (IVF). The aim of this study is to evaluate iron status and ceruloplasmin ferroxidase activity in the follicular fluid (FF) and their association with IVF outcomes. The study enrolled fertile women with male cause infertility (n=25), infertile women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS; n=21), infertile women with low AMH level (n=26), and women with unexplained infertility (UI; n=27), all undergoing IVF/ICSI. On the day of oocyte suction, the selection of FF samples was accomplished. Iron, ferritin, and transferrin levels, as well as ceruloplasmin (CP) ferroxidase activity, were measured

RESPONSE OF FABA BEAN TO PLANTING DISTANCE BETWEEN PLANTS AND SPRAYING WITH NANO AND TRADITIONAL BORON: RESPONSE OF FABA BEAN TO PLANTING DISTANCE BETWEEN PLANTS AND SPRAYING WITH NANO AND TRADITIONAL BORON
...Show More Authors

A field experiment was conducted during winter season of 2021 at a research station of college of agricultural engineering sciences, university of Baghdad to determine the response of active fertility percentage and seed yield and its components of faba bean (Vicia faba L. cv. Aguadulce) to distance between plants and spraying of nano and traditional boron. A Randomized Complete Block Design according to split-plots arrangement was used at three replicates. The main plots were three distances between plants (25, 35 and 45 cm), while the sub plots including spraying of distilled water only (control treatment), spraying of boron at a 100 mg L-1 and spraying of nano boron at two concentrations (1

Dynamical Analysis Within-Host and Between-Host for HIV\AIDS with the Application of Optimal Control Strategy: Dynamical analysis within-host and between-host for an HIV\AIDS
...Show More Authors

The aims of this paper is investigating the spread of AIDS both within-host, through the contact between healthy cells with free virus inside the body, and between-host, through sexual contact among individuals and external sources of infectious. The outbreak of AIDS is described by a mathematical model consisting of two stages. The first stage describes the within-host spread of AIDS and is represented by the first three equations. While the second stage describes the between-host spread of AIDS and represented by the last four equations. The existence, uniqueness and boundedness of the solution of the model are discussed and all possible equilibrium points are determined. The local asymptotic stability (LAS) of the model is studied, wh

EVALUATION OF THE EFFICIENCY OF SOME CHEMICAL (FYLEX), NANOPARTICLES (MGO) AND BIOLOGICAL FACTORS IN INHIBITING OF ASPERGILLUS FLAVUS

The Fylex extract exert a high inhibition effect against A . flavus growth on PDA medium, as the fungus growth was completely inhibited by 100% at a concentration of 0.2 and 0.3% of studied extract, while the lowest inhibition percentage (71%) was found at a concentration of 0.1%. Whereas magnesium oxide nanoparticles showed the highest inhibition ratio of A. flavus (100%) was detected at 0.2% and the lowest inhibition ratio (81.66%) was at concentration 0.5%. Moreover, the addition of G. lucidum powder to PDA medium with a concentration of 2.5 mg increased the inhibition rate of A. flavus growth which was 54.4%, while the lowest inhibition ration (18.22%) was found at a concentration of 1000 mg. Elastic Form Factors and Proton Momentum Distributions for Some fp- Shell Nuclei Using the Coherent Density Fluctuation Model
...Show More Authors

The ground state proton momentum distributions (PMD) and elastic charge form
factors for some odd 1f  2p shell nuclei, such as , , 59 63Co Cu and Cu 65 have been
studied using the Coherent Density Fluctuation Model and formulated by means of
the fluctuation function (weight function) ( ) .
2
f x The fluctuation function has been
connected to the charge density distribution of the nuclei and determined from the
theory and experiment result. The feature of the long-tail behavior at high
momentum region of the PMD has been calculated by both the theoretical and
experimental fluctuation functions. It is found that the inclusion of the quadrupole
form factors ( ) 2 F q C in all nuclei under study, which are de

Core Polarization Effects on the Inelastic Longitudinal Electron Scattering Form Factors of Ti 48,50 and Cr 52,54 nuclei

In this paper, inelastic longitudinal electron scattering form factors C2 and C4
transitions have been studied in Ti 48,50
and Cr 52,54
nuclei with the aid of shell
model calculations. The core polarization transition density was evaluated by
adopting the shape of Tassie model togther with the derived form of the ground state
two-body charge density distributions (2BCDD's). The following transitions have

Risk Factors of Oral Cancer and Potentially malignant disorders (PMDs) – Developing a High / Low Risk Profiling System
...Show More Authors

Background: Oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) remains a lethal and deforming disease, with a significant mortality and a rising incidence in younger and female patients. It is thus imperative to identify potential risk factors for OSCC and oral PMDs and to design an accurate data collection tool to try to identify patients at high risk of OSCC development. 14 factors consistently found to be associated with the pathogenesis of OSCC and oral PMDs. Eight of themwere identified as high risk (including tobacco, alcohol, betel quid, marijuana, genetic factors, age, diet and immunodeficiency) and 6 low risk (such as oral health, socioeconomic status, HPV, candida infection, alcoholic mouth wash and diabetes) were stratified according to severit
