Vast percentage of the Hor Al-Dalmaj area is covered with sand dunes fields due to desertification. Therefore, it is vital to research these dunes to limit their bad action on the natural environment by defining the mineralogical composition of these sand dunes deposited around Hor Al-Dalmaj lake between Wast and Al-Qasisiyah Governorates to determine the provenance or the source of these dunes. Barchan and Nabkha dunes represent the main types that are recognized. The level of thyroid autoantibodies between type 1 and type 2 diabetes mellitus
patients in Baghdad City were investigated.
Fifty individuals (25 female and 25 male) with type-1 DM in the age group of 10
to 35 years and seventy (35 female and 35 male) of having type-2 DM in the age
group of 33 to 60 years were investigated. A control group of twenty-five nondiabetes
was included. Serum sample collected was used to estimate anti-TPO, TG
and thyroid stimulating hormone antibodies (thyroid stimulating immunoglobulin
TSI and thyrotropin binding inhibitory immunoglobulin TBII) by using enzymelinked
immunosorbent assay (ELISA) technique.

This study was conducted to know the effect of some phenotype characteristics of corn plant on infection by (CSB), using 13 genotypes of corn plant, planting during autumn season 1997 and 1998. The result revealed that the mean of plant height (with male flowering) was (183-219) cm, the mean of leaf No./ plant in all genotypes was (16-18) leaf but the leaf area of plant was (4350-6249) cm2, there were significant differences of phenotype characteristics between genotypes ,the percentage of infection by (CSB) was (5.9-35.9),% the result showed that the phenotype characteristics had non effect on the infection percentage by (CSB) and the correlation coefficient was not significant.
