Background: Arterial stiffness is related with atherosclerosis and cardiovascular disease events. Patients with atherosclerotic disease show to have larger diameters, reduced arterial compliance and lower flow velocities. Aim of study : To compare between patients of two age groups with concomitant diseases diabetes and hypertension in regard to intima media thickness and blood flow characteristics in order to estimate the blood perfusion to the brain via the common and internal carotid arteries. Subject and Methods : 40 patients with (diabetic and hypertension) diseases were enrolled , they were classified according to age. Color Doppler and B mode ultrasound was used to determine lumen Diameter (D), Intima – media thickness (IMT), end diastolic velocity (EDV), peak systolic velocity (PSV), Resistive Index (RI), Pulsatility Index (PI), and the flow rate indices were calibrated and calculated . Results:- Results show that the change in the lumen diameter between the old patients group and the younger group were (2.02%) with insignificant (p value >0.05), and the difference in the in intima-media (IMT) thickness between the two age groups (35- 55) and (56-75) are (33.8%) with significant (p value <0.05). The change difference in peak systolic velocity was (-13.29% ) with insignificant (p value >0.05), while the difference in the (EDV) between both age groups was (-38.02%), with significant p value <0.05. Pressure gradient and flow rate have given insignificant difference between both age groups. Conclusion: The intima media is significantly thicker for the old age group than in the younger group. The increased thickness of intima media did not influence the lumen diameter significantly. A clear change in PSV, EDV, RI, and PI was observed which have influenced blood perfusion to the brain.
The freedom to promote ideas is one of the freedoms protected by constitutions and laws, and it is exercised by individuals through traditional and electronic media. However, this freedom must be exercised according to certain limits, represented by the necessity of respecting human rights, just as individuals have the freedom to exercise their right to publish and express their opinion in every way. Frankly, in return, she must respect the rights of others . Perhaps the development that has occurred in the various media, including journalism, radio, television, and the emergence of a new medium represented by the Internet, has contributed significantly to harming the security of individuals through the promotion of extremist ideas. ... Show MoreTwosimple, sensitive, accurate, and precise spectrophotometric methods have been developed for the determination of chlorpromazine – HCl in pure form and pharmaceutical formulation. The first method involved treatment of cited drug with a measured excess of permanganate in acid medium and the unreacted oxidant was measured at 525 nm. The second method involves the reaction of the drug with potassium permanganate in the presence of sodium hydroxide to produce a bluish – green colored manganite which is measurable at 610nm. All the experimental variables affecting the development of the manganite ions were investigatedand conditions were optimized. Working linearity ranges were 5-45 µg.mL-1and 1-20 µg.mL-1 by two methods respectively. Th

The field of autonomous robotic systems has advanced tremendously in the last few years, allowing them to perform complicated tasks in various contexts. One of the most important and useful applications of guide robots is the support of the blind. The successful implementation of this study requires a more accurate and powerful self-localization system for guide robots in indoor environments. This paper proposes a self-localization system for guide robots. To successfully implement this study, images were collected from the perspective of a robot inside a room, and a deep learning system such as a convolutional neural network (CNN) was used. An image-based self-localization guide robot image-classification system delivers a more accura
... Show MoreIn this paper, we will discuss the performance of Bayesian computational approaches for estimating the parameters of a Logistic Regression model. Markov Chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) algorithms was the base estimation procedure. We present two algorithms: Random Walk Metropolis (RWM) and Hamiltonian Monte Carlo (HMC). We also applied these approaches to a real data set.
Porosity and permeability are the most difficult properties to determine in subsurface reservoir characterization. The difficulty of estimating them arising from the fact that porosity and permeability may vary significantly over the reservoir volume, and can only be sampled at well location. Secondly, the porosity values are commonly evaluated from the well log data, which are usually available from most wells in the reservoir, but permeability values, which are generally determined from core analysis, are not usually available. The aim of this study is: First, to develop correlations between the core and the well log data which can be used to estimate permeability in uncored wells, these correlations enable to estimate reservoir permeabil

Analyses were performed on day 0, 7, 14, 21, and 28 of the experiment. Two hydrocarbon concentrations were used (20000 mg/kg and 40000 mg/kg) for three groups of earthworms number which were five, ten and twenty earthworms. After 28 days, the total petroleum hydrocarbon (TPH) concentration (20000 mg/kg) was reduced to 13200 mg/kg, 9800 mg/kg, and 6300 mg/kg in treatments with five, ten and twenty earthworms respectively. Also, TPH concentration (40000 mg/kg) was reduced to 22000 mg/kg, 10100 mg/kg, and 4200 mg/kg in treatments with the above number of earthworms respectively. The p

Show MoreDirect measurements of drag force on two interacting particles arranged in the longitudinal direction for particle Reynolds numbers varying from J O to 103 are conducted using a micro-force measurement system. The effect of the interparticle distance and Reynolds number on the drag forces is examined. An empirical equation is obtained to describe the effect of the interparticle distance (l/d) on the dimensionless drag.
Schiff bases (SBs) represent multipurpose ligands that can be prepared from the concentration of prime amines with carbonyl clusters. Creation of SB transition metal compounds via as ligands has opportunity of attaining coordination complexes of abnormal arrangement and stability. These transition metal compounds have extraordinary attention as a consequence of their dynamic portion in metalloenzymes and as biomimetic prototypical complexes as a result of their proximity to usual enzymes and proteins. These complexes are imperative in medicinal disciplines owing to their widespread range of biological actions. They mostly exhibit organic actions involving antifungal, antibacterial, antitumor, antidiabetic, herbicidal, antiproliferative, ant

In the present work there are seven velocities (4.429,4.652,5.240,5.600,5.942,6.264, 6.569) m\sec were applied to show how they effect the load, change in length, also the kinetic energy. However, the comparison between the obtained results and the other studies (Alexandar[3] , Abramowicz[4], Ayad[5]) was made the present work and Ayad data show good agreement. Load, change in length, kinetic energy were determined to understand the impact test.
