The influence of acid activation of a mixture of illite, kaolinite, and chlorite clays collected from the area of Zorbatiya (east of Iraq) on the adsorption of methyl violet 6B (MV6B) as a cationic dye was studied. The activation was carried out by using 0.25M HCl and 0.25M . Raw and acid-activated clays were analyzed by atomic force microscopy (AFM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and X-ray diffraction (XRD).

     This study explored the preservative effects of the alcoholic leaves’ extract of Ficus carica plant on beef refrigerated for 15 days. Phytochemical analysis showed that the plant extract contained terpenoids, flavonoids, tannins, saponins, and alkaloids. A comparative investigation of gas sensing properties of SnO2 doped with WO3 based on thin film and bulk forms was achieved. Thin films were deposited by thermal evaporation technique on glass substrates. Bulk sensors in the shape of pellets were prepared by pressing SnO2:WO3 powder. The polycrystalline nature of the obtained films with tetragonal structure was confirmed by X-ray diffraction. The calculated crystalline size was 52.43 nm. Thickness of the prepared films was found 134 nm.
