Well-being and prosperous living are among the most significant goals of sustainable development, and development strategies should be directed toward satisfying individuals’ needs and living in happy cities. The research explores the potential for establishing a comprehensive strategy by examining different approaches to urban planning and their impact on individuals’ happiness. The research problem is the absence of a clear, standardized vision for developing cities that satisfy individuals’ needs and promote happiness. The hypothesis suggests exploring urban development strategies for the happiest cities in the world to satisfy individuals’ needs and promote happiness. Relying on the concept of the happy city, sustainability, and individuals’ needs and examining the success of Zurich and Dubai cities, the research aims to explore urban elements within cities that satisfy individuals’ needs and promote happiness and seeks to develop a comprehensive framework for a happy city strategy that can be applied to promote happiness for Iraqi cities using measurable indicators to assess their achievement levels and improve urban well-being. Using a descriptive-analytical and comparative approach, the findings show that sustainable urban design can positively impact individuals’ happiness by satisfying their needs and presents a comprehensive, actionable strategy to develop cities towards happiness relying on built and natural environmental elements that promote sustainable developments and happiness, which are crucial for the practical application of these findings.

Hence, the idea of the current study aims at studying the impact of Baghdad effluents on the Tigris River by using oligochaetes community as bioindicators . For this purpose, four sites along the inside of Baghdad has been chosen. Site S1 has been located upstream, site S2 and S3 has been at midstream and site S4 at the downstream of the River. This investigation has used different types of biological indicators, including the percentage of oligochaeta within benthic invertebrates, which ranged from 49.2-51.28%. All its built structures had various urban roofs influenced by different climate circumstances. That creates peculiarities and changes within the urban local climate and an increase in the impact of urban heat islands (UHI) with wastage of energy. The research question is less information dealing with the renovation of existing urban roofs using color as a strategy to mitigate the impact of UHI. In order to achieve local urban sustainability; the research focused on solutions using different materials and treatments to reduce urban surface heating emissions. The results showed that the new and old technologies, produ

The first of these questions: What is identity? Can a definition or conceptual framework be developed for identity? What about individual, collective, cultural, ethnic, political and regional identity? Is there a definition of identity in the urban environment in particular? If there is a definition of identity, what about social mobility responsible for social change? How can we see identity through this kinetics? Can we assume that identity in the urban environment has a variable structure or is of variable shape with a more stable structure? Can we determine the spatial-tempora

Traditionally, urban centers prioritized defensive measures, like dikes and levees, with an emphasis on immediate solutions over long-term resilience. These practices, though effective in the short term, often overlooked broader environmental implications and the necessity for holistic planning. However, as urban areas burgeoned and climate change introduced new challenges, there has been a marked shift in approach. Modern urban planning now emphasizes integrated blue-green infrastructure, aiming to harmonize human habitation with water cycles. Resil
