Radiological evaluation of the effect of chia seeds oil on skin wound healing, histological examination on male rats
...Show More Authors

Background: Wounds are any disruption to the normal anatomic structure of tissue which leads to the loss of epithelial continuity with or without a loss of underlying connective tissue, as well as the anatomic and functional integrity of the living tissue . Wound healing is a complex process with overlapping phases haemostasis, inflammation, proliferation and maturation/matrix Remodeling. Each phase of wound healing requires different management strategies, and inappropriate treatment can delay wound healing. The aim of wound treatment is a rapid wound closure and re-establish tissue function, chia seeds oil are widely used herbal medicines because of their anti-inflammatory and antioxidant capacity as they considerd agood source of polyunsaturated fatty acids. Wound healing process can be assessed by histological examination of wound area besides the using of advanced color doppler ultrasound, the noninvasive testing of wound healing phases by providing considerable insights into an early angiogenesis and constitutes a helpful test in the detection of neovascularization by means of color Doppler vascularit index CDVI. Aim of the study: The present study aimed to highlight the healing efficiency of chia seeds oil by color Doppler vascularity index Materials and methods: A thirtymale rats used in this study were divided into two groups for three healing intervals the experimental groups were: 1-15 rat were topicaly treated with chia seeds oil 2-the control All animals subjected to surgical operation in the dorsum of the rat, creating a horizontal wound with full skin thickness depthand 2 cm length treated with tested oils (chia seeds oil) Animals' scarifications were done in (3,7 and 10 days) durations. Routine processing and sectioning technique was performed for histological evaluation. Results: radiological and histological findings of this study showed that re-epithelialization,and remodeling of dermal fibrous connective tissue were accelerated after topical application of chia seed oil at wound site. Conclusion: The study revealed that application of chia seeds oil was more effective in enhancement of wound healing as compared to the controlled one and the colored Doppler vascularity index was a useful diagnostic test of angiogenesis in wound healing.

The Effect of Asphaltene on the Stability of Iraqi Water in Crude Oil Emulsions
...Show More Authors

In the present work, asphaltenes and resins separated from emulsion samples collected from two Iraqi oil wells, Nafut Kana (Nk) and Basrah were used to study the emulsion stability. The effect of oil resins to asphaltene (R/A) ratio, pH of the aqueous phase, addition of paraffinic solvent (n-heptane), aromatic solvent (toluene), and blend of both (heptol) in various proportions on the stability of emulsions had been investigated. The conditions of experiments were specified as an agitation speed of 1000 rpm for 30 minutes, heating at 50 °C, and water content of 30%.  The results showed that as the R/A ratio increases, the emulsion will be unstable and the amount of water separated from emulsion increases. It was noticed that the em

Therapeutic Effects of Allicin against the Diabetes Mellitus Induced by Streptozotocin in Male Rats
...Show More Authors

This study aimed to see how allicin (45mg/kg BW) affected diabetic Mellitus in male rats (DM). Forty male rats were utilized, and they were split into four groups at random for 42 days. T2 was treated with 45 mg/kg B.W of allicin dissolved in 1 ml of D.W daily and injected with a single dose of sodium citrate buffer (0.5ml Intra-Peritoneal IP), DM was induced in T1 and T2 by injection of a single dose of streptozotocin 50 mg/kg B.W IP, T1 was assigned as a positive control, T3 received 45 mg/kg B.W. of allicin dissolved in 1 ml D.W. every day, and a single dose of sodium citrate buffer was injected (0.5ml IP). When diabetic rats treated with allicin in T2 were compared to diabetic rats in T1, the findings indicated a significant increase (P

Radiological Assessment and Mechanical Separation of NORM Contaminated Soil from Iraqi Oil Fields
...Show More Authors

Naturally occurring radioactive materials (NORM) contaminated sites at Al-Rumaila Iraqi oil fields have been characterized as a part of soil remediation project. Activity of radium isotopes in contaminated soil have been determined using gamma spectrometer High Purity Germanium detector (HPGe) and found to be very high for Al-Markezia, Al-Qurainat degassing stations and storage area at Khadhir Almay region. The activity concentration of samples ranges from 6474.11±563.8 Bq/kg to 1232.5±60.9 Bq/kg with mean value of 3853.3 Bq/kg for 226Ra, 843.59±8.39 Bq/kg to 302.2±9.2 Bq/kg  with mean value of 572.9 Bq/kg for 232Th and 294.31±18.56 Bq/kg to 156.64±18.1 Bq/kg with mean value of 225.5 for 40K. Background: Leukemia is a cancer of blood cells which treated by different anticancer agents, Plants nowadays considered a new source for the development of new anticancer agent. Euphorbia Lathyris use in folklore to treat skin cancer. Objective Euphorbia lathyris seeds phytochemically investigated then examined its cytotoxic activity against leukemia cells. Materials and Methods: Euphorbia lathyris seed was extracted by maceration with different organic solvents (petroleum ether, chloroform and methanol), each organic extract submitted to phytochemical investigation and evaluated its cytotoxic activity on Leukemic blood with three different doses (50,100 and 150 µg mL¯1) and three different intervals. The data were evaluated by two-way a

Objectives of this project were to study the effect of 60% crude alcoholic extract of the seeds of cyperus esculentuson induced endometritis in the mice . The plant of cyperus esculentuswas extracted by preparing Alcoholic extract 60% . One hundred microliters of saline containing Escherichia coli (104cfu) was used to induce endometritis, by a single intracervicallyinjection, and endometritis developed after 2 days from injection. The mice were divided into five groups, The first group were treated with alcoholic extract of cyperus esculentusextract 150mg/kg body weight, the second group was treated with a daily 3mg per kg body weight of gentamicin given intra peritoneal,The third group was treated by 75mg/kg of cyperus esculentusextract an
