Spatiotemporal patterns of bifacial and monofacial photovoltaic energy potential in an arid climate zone
...Show More Authors
Abstract<p>Climate change significantly affects photovoltaic (PV) energy potential in arid regions. This study quantifies climate change impacts on both monofacial and bifacial PV energy potential across Iraq using Community Climate System Model (CCSM4) projections under Representative Concentration Pathway (RCP) 4.5 and RCP8.5 scenarios spanning 2020–2100. Specific mathematical frameworks accounting for thermal and irradiance characteristics were applied across 18 representative regions covering Iraq’s diverse climatic zones, with bifacial systems modeled using dual-surface irradiance capture incorporating ground reflection and thermal dynamics. Results reveal distinct northwest–southeast gradient patterns in bifacial PV potential ranging from 0.267 to 0.302, with Western Anbar demonstrating exceptional climate resilience maintaining peak performance (0.291–0.302) under moderate scenarios, while northern provinces experience 2.5%–4% reductions under high-emission pathways. Under RCP8.5, 45% of Iraq’s territory falls below optimal deployment thresholds by century’s end. Bifacial systems consistently outperform monofacial technology by 19%–22% across all regions and scenarios, with enhanced relative advantages under extreme climate conditions. This represents the first comprehensive bifacial PV climate assessment for Iraq, providing critical evidence for renewable energy planning in climate-sensitive arid regions and supporting technology selection strategies for resilient solar infrastructure development.</p>

CFD Simulation of Air Flow Patterns in a Spray Dryer Fitted With a Rotary Disk
...Show More Authors

The air flow pattern in a co-current pilot plant spray dryer fitted with a rotary disk atomizer was determined experimentally and modelled numerically using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) (ANSYS Fluent ) software. The CFD simulation used a three dimensions system, Reynolds-Average Navier-Stokes equations (RANS), closed via the RNG k −ε turbulence model. Measurements were carried out at a rotation of the atomizer (3000 rpm) and when there is no rotation using a drying air at 25 oC and  air velocity at the inlet of  5 m/s without swirl. The air flow pattern was predicted experimentally using cotton tufts and digital anemometer. The CFD simulation predicted a downward central flowing air core surrounded by a slow

Potential Use of Recycled Asphalt Pavement (RAP) in Hot MixAsphalt
...Show More Authors

The objective of the present paper is to examine the effect of Recycled Asphalt Pavement (RAP) on marshall properties and indirect tensile strength of HMA through experimental investigation. A mixture with 0% RAP was used as a control mix to evaluate the properties of mixes with 5%, 10%, and 15% RAP. One type of RAP was brought from Bab Al-moadam’s road in Baghdad for this purpose. The experimental testing program included Marshall and Indirect Tensile Strength tests. The results indicated that the bulk density, flow and VFA increase with the increasing of the percentage of RAP, while increasing in RAP results decreases in VTM and VMA values. Furthermore, the stability is changed from 10.1 kN for the control mix to12, 13.6 and 11.7 kN

Teachers play a critical role in planning, organizing, coordinating, monitoring, and instructing, hence the topic of leadership styles receives a lot of attention. As a result, the physical education school is regarded as the most significant component of the educational process because it has the ability to weave together the teaching and educational skills, attitudes, and capacities that its students develop. Fits into their identities through her relationship with them. Moringa oleifera Use in Maintaining Oral Health and Its Potential Use in Regenerative Dentistry
...Show More Authors

Phytomedicine refers to the use of naturally derived products to cure and mitigate human conditions. Natural products have the advantages of causing minimum side effects, being biocompatible, available, and economical, with a wide array of biological activities. Reports have described the use of natural products with antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties to treat oral conditions and promote wound healing. Moringa oleifera, known as the “drumstick” or “horseradish” tree, is believed to have medicinal properties regarding a range of medical conditions, though there is limited information on its use in oral medicine. This narrative review focuses on the use of Moringa extracts in the management of oral conditions, incl

The role of annealing temperature on the optical energy gap and Urbach energy of Se:2%Sb thin films
...Show More Authors

The optical energy gap(Eopt) and the width of the tails of localized states in the band gap (?E) for Se:2%Sb thin films prepared by thermal co-evaporation method as a function of annealing temperature are studied in the photon energy range ( 1 to 5.4)eV.Se2%Sb film was found to be indirect transition with energy gap of (1.973,2.077, 2.096, 2.17) eV at annealing temperature (295,370,445,520)K respectively. The Eopt and ?E of Se:2%Sb films as a function of annealing temperature showed an increase in Eopt and a decrease in ?E with increasing the annealing temperature. This behavior may be related to structural defects and dangling bonds.

Performance evaluation of the photovoltaic thermal system with a fin array and surface zigzag layout
...Show More Authors
Abstract<p>Solar photovoltaic (PV) has many environmental benefits and it is considered to be a practical alternative to traditional energy generation. The electrical conversion efficiency of such systems is inherently limited due to the relatively high thermal resistance of the PV components. An approach for intensifying electrical and thermal production of air-type photovoltaic thermal (PVT) systems via applying a combination of fins and surface zigzags was proposed in this paper. This research study aims to apply three performance enhancers: case B, including internal fins; case C, back surface zigzags; and case D, combinations of fins and surface zigzags; whereas the baseline smooth duct rep</p> ...
