An experimental study was conducted on pressure drop of water flow through vertical cylindrical packed beds in turbulent region and the influence of the operating parameters on its behavior. The bed packing was made of spherical and non-spherical particles (spheres, Rasching rings and intalox saddle) with aspect ratio range 3.46  D/dp  8.486 obtaining bed porosities 0.396 0.84 and Reynolds number 1217  21758.    In this research the effect of grain size and effect of La2O3 doping on densification  rate for the  initial and intermediate  stages of sintering were studied .The experimental results for α – cristobilite powder are modeled using ( L2-Regression ) technique in studying  the effect of grain size and La2O3 doping using  three particles size (6.12, 8.92, 13.6 ) µm, with undoped  initial powder and with La2O3 doping . In this study, Laser Shock Peening (LSP) effect on the polymeric composite materials has been investigated experimentally. Polymeric composite materials are widely used because they are easy to fabricate and have many attractive features. Unsaturated polyester resin as a matrix was selected and Aluminum powder with micro particles as a reinforcement material was used with different volume fraction (2.5%, 5% and 7.5%). using a simplified cheap method with one step in –situ chemical
polymerization, and AC conductivity (σac) of the prepared samples is
studied in the range of frequency from 50 Hz to 15MHz.). The

Determination of the level of adipokines (obestatin, vaspin, tumor necrosis factor-? and interleukin-6)in hypo-and hyperthyroid patients from Educational Baghdad Hospital in Baghdad City was investigated. Fifty patients with hypothyroidism and Fifty patients with hyperthyroidism were selected. A control group of thirty euthyroid persons was included. Blood was collected by vein puncture and serum was separated and stored at –20C. Adipokines (obestatin, vaspin, tumor necrosis factor-? and interleukin-6) were estimated using ELISA method. The findings show a significant (p<0.05) increase in obestatin level in hypothyroid patients, while there is no significant difference in hyperthyroid patientsas compared with the euthyroid subjects.

Common carp ( Cyprinus carpio L.) juveniles  averaging 7.68± 0.25 - 8.12± 1.14 g in weight were  used for 6 weeks to investigate their survival and growth preferences. The experimented carp were stocked at 12 tanks formerly adjusted with different pH levels values as: 6.0, 7.0, 8.0 and 9.0.  Growth and survival of common carp was assessed every Sunday of each week. Growth rates significantly (P < 0.05 ) increased  at pH 7 and  pH8 respectively. Therefore, the results suggest that the water with pH ranged from 7 to 8 was the best range for growth performance and survival rate of carp.
