Synthesis, Characterization, Molecular Docking, Cytotoxicity, and Antimicrobial Activity of Schiff Base Ligand and Its Metal Complexes
...Show More Authors
ABSTRACT<p>A Schiff base ligand (L) was synthesized via condensation of N‐(1‐naphthyl)ethylenediamine dihydrochloride with phthalaldehyde. The ligand was characterized by FT‐IR, UV–Vis, 1H NMR, mass spectrometry, and elemental analysis (C, H, N). Five metal complexes (Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II), and Cd(II)) were prepared with the ligand in a 1:1 (M:L) ratio using an aqueous ethanol solution. The complexes were characterized by FT‐IR, UV–Vis, mass spectrometry, and elemental analysis (C, H, N). Additionally, 1H NMR spectroscopy was employed for Cd(II) complex. Antimicrobial activity of the ligand and its metal complexes against pathogenic bacteria (<styled-content style="fixed-case">K. pneumoniae</styled-content>, <styled-content style="fixed-case">E. coli</styled-content>, <styled-content style="fixed-case">S. aureus</styled-content>, and <styled-content style="fixed-case">S. epidermidis</styled-content>) and fungus (<styled-content style="fixed-case">C. albicans</styled-content>) were evaluated using the agar well diffusion method. All compounds exhibited inhibitory effects with zone diameters ranging from 8 to 16 mm. The ligand and complexes also displayed significant anticancer activity against a mammary carcinoma cell line. Among them, Zn(II) and Cu(II) complexes demonstrated the highest inhibitory effects (70.68% and 70.57%, respectively), followed by the ligand (61.35%) and Co(II), Cd(II), and Ni(II) complexes (60.34%, 58.96%, and 41.63%, respectively). IC50 values followed a similar trend, ranging from 31.69% (Co(II)) to 165.7% (Cd(II)). Molecular docking studies indicated strong binding affinities of the ligand and the Zn(II) complex to the estrogen receptor.</p>

The actor's Body Language and its significance in Iraqi Theatre Show: نوار علي محمد
...Show More Authors

The theatrical show has gone through a lot of changes where the actor was the most significant factor in all the theatrical shows since the very beginning of the art of acting by the Greeks until the present day. The actor went through many stages that employed his tools in different ways. The body in the theatre had a great importance because it is the perceived physical element that creates the communication between the actor and the audience in the theatrical show. The actor's body had a special language that carries different meanings and creates the communication between the actor and the audience in the theatrical show. The audience can decipher the codes of that body, thus, the researcher found the compatibility and differe

Moringa oleifera Use in Maintaining Oral Health and Its Potential Use in Regenerative Dentistry
...Show More Authors

Phytomedicine refers to the use of naturally derived products to cure and mitigate human conditions. Natural products have the advantages of causing minimum side effects, being biocompatible, available, and economical, with a wide array of biological activities. Reports have described the use of natural products with antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties to treat oral conditions and promote wound healing. Moringa oleifera, known as the “drumstick” or “horseradish” tree, is believed to have medicinal properties regarding a range of medical conditions, though there is limited information on its use in oral medicine. This narrative review focuses on the use of Moringa extracts in the management of oral conditions, incl

Formation of self-assembled polymeric complexes with bridged azido-dicarboxylato ligands
...Show More Authors

In this publication, several six coordinate bridged-polymeric metal complexes are reported. The reaction of 4,4`-dipyridine with ethyl chloroacetate in mole ratio of 1:2 gave the multidentate carboxylate ligand bis(N-carboxylatomethyl)-4,4`-dipyridinium). The reaction of the ligand with metal chloride and sodium azide resulted in the formation of the required polymeric complexes. Upon complex formation, the carboxylato ligand behaves as a neutral multidantate species. The mode of bonding and overall geometry of the complexes were determined through physicochemical and spectroscopic methods. These studies revealed octahedral geometry about metal centres and complexes of the general formula [Cr2(L)(N3)4]Cl2.H2O, Na2[Ag2(L)(N3)4].H2O and [M2(L
