Synthesis, spectroscopic, thermal, biological activities studies for Ni(II),Cu(II) and Zn(II) complexes with phthalohydrazide derived ligand and evaluation as antioxidants
...Show More Authors

The present article discusses the synthesis of tetradentate Schiff base complexes formed by the condensation reaction of 2-hydroxy benzaldehyde and phthalohydrazide. The ligand (LH2) was detected using FT-IR spectra, 1H, 13C-NMR, UV-Vis spectroscopy, elemental microanalysis CHN, and mass spectrometry. The obtained solid complexes have been assessed using physicochemical and spectroscopic techniques, including UV-Vis, FT-IR, nuclear magnetic resonance (1H-NMR, 13C-NMR), mass spectrometry, thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA), and atomic absorption, in addition to complex conductivity and magnetic moment measurements. The infrared results demonstrated that ligands functioning as tetradentate ligands are chelated to metal ions via the phenolic oxygen and nitrogen of the azomethine group. Specific metal ions join with chloride ions (Cu+2, Zn+2) to reach their coordination numbers. The generated compounds' antibacterial effect in vitro was measured towards Candida albicans as a fungal species, Gram-positive Bacilla and pseudomonas, and Gram-negative Staph and E. coli using the agar well diffusion technique. The ligand generated an octahedral geometry around the (Cu+2 and Zn+2) and a tetrahedral form around the Ni+2 metal ion, per the measurement and spectroscopic tests. Ascorbic acid is used as a standard in the phosphomolybdate technique to assess the antioxidant activity of the ligand and complexes. Synthesis and Spectral Studies of ZnII,CdII and HgII Complexes with 5-(2-Benzoic acid azo)-8-hydroxy quinoline Ligand
...Show More Authors

Coupling reaction of 2-amino benzoic acid with 8-hydroxy quinoline gave bidentate azo ligand. The prepared ligand has been identified by Microelemental Analysis,1HNMR,FT-IR and UV-Vis spectroscopic techniques. Treatment of the prepared ligand with the following metal ions (ZnII,CdII and HgII) in aqueous ethanol with a 1:2 M:L ratio and at optimum pH, yielded a series of neutral complexes of the general formula [M(L)2]. The prepared complexes have been characterized by using flame atomic absorption, (C.H.N) Analysis, FT-IR and UV-Vis spectroscopic methods as well as conductivity measurements. The nature of the complexes formed were studied following the mole ratio and continuous variation methods, Beer's law obeyed over a concentration ra

Gestational diabetes mellitus is glucose intolerance of varying degree with onset or first detection duringpregnancy,it can causelong and short term morbidities in both the mother and the child, such as shoulder dystocia, preeclampsia, and high blood pressure. The most powerful endogenous vasoconstrictor peptide, urotensin II, andits receptor are involved in the etiology of gestational diabetes mellitus.Aim of the study: The study’s goal was to see if there is a link between Urotensin II levels and insulin resistancein pregnant women with gestational diabetes.Patients and method: A case-control study that was conducted in obstetrics and gynecology department atBaghdad Teaching hospital from the first of January 2019 to the end of D

Synthesis, Spectral and Biochemical Studies of New Complexes of Mixed Ligand Schiff Base and Anthranilic Acid
...Show More Authors

In this rescrch, new mixed ligand Schiff base complexes of Mn(II),Co(II),Ni(II),Cu(II), Cd(II), and Hg(II) are formulated from the Schiff base( L)resulting from  o-phathalaldehyde(o-PA) with p-nitroaniline(p-NA)as a primary ligand and anthranilic acid as a subordinate ligand. Diagnosis of prepared Ligand and its complexes is done by spectral methods mass spectrometer;1H -NMR for ligand Schiff base FTIR, UV-Vis, molar conductance, elemental microanalyses, atomic absoption and magnetic susceptibility. The analytical studies for the all new complexes have shown octahedral geometries. The study of organicperformance  of ligand Schiff base and its complexes show various activity agansit four type of bactria two gram (+) and two gram (-) .

The relationship between Fatty Acids and Type II Diabetes Mellitus
...Show More Authors

We can summarize the main risk factors for type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) by looking at our nutrition, age, and lifestyle. β-cell dysfunction and insulin resistance (IR) are outcomes of the pathophysiology of type 2 diabetes. As an indirect result of IR on important metabolic enzymes, lipid and lipoprotein abnormalities are also a factor in T2DM patients. Recent research has indicated that lipid fluctuation may be the cause of poor glucose metabolism as well as one of its effects. Fatty acids (FAs) affect cell membrane fluidity and permeability, insulin receptor binding and signaling, and the translocation of glucose transporters. Therefore, it is suggested that FAs might play a crucial part in the emergence of IR and T2DM.
