It is obvious that there is a difference between the three strategic environments (conflict environment, peace environment, post- peace environment) in terms of inputs and strategies to deal with each one of them. There is an urgent need to understand each pattern separately, analyze its inputs, and identify the factors and variables that affect the continuity of this situation (conflict, peace, post-peace). Background: Changes in the indication for splenectomy in hematology, especially in hematological malignancies, has been observed in the last 10 – 15 years. Yet splenectomy, as a diagnostic tool, is still an option in the management of isolated splenomegaly.
Objectives: to describe the outcome of diagnostic splenectomy in the management of 12 patients presenting with isolated splenomegaly.
Patients and methods: Between August 2005 and July2012, Twelve patients underwent splenectomy for diagnostic purposes in the hematology unit / Baghdad Teaching Hospital. Analysis of these patients was done with a median follow up of 16 months (6 months -4 years).

This work presents an experimental study of heat transfer and flow of distilled water and metal oxide nanofluid Fe₃O₄-distilled water at concentrations of (φ = 0.3, 0.6, 0.9 %) by volume in a horizontal pipe with constant magnetic field. All the tests are carried out with Reynolds number range (2900-9820) and uniform heat flux (11262-19562 W/m²). The results show that, the nanofluid concentration and magnetic intensity increase, the Nusselt number increases. The maximum enhancement in Nusselt number with magnetic nanofluid is (5.4 %, 26.4 %, 42.7 %) for volume concentration (0.3, 0.6, 0.9 %) respectively.
