In diabetes, impaired wound healing and other tissue abnormalities are considered major concerns. Many factorsaffect the time and quality of wound healing. One of the purposes of medical sciences is wound healing in a short time withreduced side effects. The herbal products are more precious in both prophylaxis as well as curative in delayed diabetic woundhealing activity when compared to synthetic drugs.A wide range of evidence has shown that capers plant possesses differentbiological effects, including antioxidant, anticancer and antibacterial effects. Phytochemical analysis shows thatC. spinosahashigh quantities of bioactive constituents, including polyphenolic compounds, which are responsible for its health-promotingeffects. The healing response emerges subsequently to cells exposure to alarm signals once the skin barrier is disrupted. Thisresponse is ultimately commanded by growth factors (GFs), which act as soluble messengers, establishing a communicationnetwork among the different cells populations and with the extracellular matrix. EGF is produced by platelets, macrophages andfibroblasts and has a paracrine impact on keratinocytes. The expression of EGF at the wound site is highest during activeepithelialization and wound contraction and stimulates the development of granulation tissue.Assessment of immunohistochemicallocalization of EGFin skin wound treated byCapparis spinosa flavonoid extract in alloxan-induced diabetic rats.A total of 30healthy maleWistar rats weighing approximately 250-300 gm were used in this study. A surgical incisional wound with fullskin thickness of 1.5 cm length were done on facial skin of each rat, they were randomly divided into following groups: GroupA: (10 healthy rats) received daily local application of the plant extract. Group B: (10 alloxan-induced diabetic rats) receiveddaily local application of extract of the plant material. Group C: (10 alloxan –induced diabetic rats) where normal saline wasapplied locally instead of plant extract. Scarification of all animals was done for the healing periods (3 and 7 days), andspecimens were prepared for immunohistochemical analysis. The results revealed highest percentage of EGF stromal andepidermal expression noticed in groupA, and in group B respectively at day 7 withhighly significant differene between stromaand epiderms in groups B and C. Results obtained in this study showed that flavonoid rich extract ofCapparis spinosaenhanceswound healing process in diabetic rats (1) (PDF) IMMUNOHISTOCHEMICAL EVALUATION OF EPIDERMAL GROWTH FACTOR EXPRESSION IN SKIN WOUND TREATED BY CAPPARIS SPINOSA FLAVONOID EXTRACT IN ALLOXAN INDUCED DIABETES RATS. Quercetin, one of the flavonoids family member, can be found in many vegetables, fruits, and beverages with a noticeable nutritional pharmacological properties. This study was aimed to evaluate the ability of quercetin to inhibit lipopolysaccharide (LPS) that induced lethal toxicity in vivo, and to elucidate the importance of the quercetin as an antitumor agent in breast cancer cell line MCF-7.In vivo experiments included the effect of hesperidin and LPS on the liver and spleen of male mice. In the liver, the antioxidant activity was measured by estimating the concentration of glutathione (GSH), and catalase (CAT), while in the spleen, the concentration of cytokines was measured including IL-33 and TNF-α. In vitro experiments included MTT

Ascites affect young broilers with rapid growth, and the most critical factor in causing ascites syndrome is the lack of oxygen in body tissues (hypoxia). This research aimed to investigate the effect of olive leaves hydroalcoholic extract and probiotics (LactoFeed) on experimental ascites caused by levothyroxine in male broiler chickens. The present study was an interventional type, and for its implementation, a single-factor design was used in eight groups with 3 replicates. Data were analyzed based on a one-way analysis of variance. Blood parameters of male chick

Ezetimibe (EZE), a cholesterol-lowering drug, has been reported to possess defensive actions against oxidative stress and inflammation, which are two of the main proposed mechanisms underlying the development of DOX-induced cardiotoxicity (DIC), hence, we aimed to inspect the possible protective effect of EZE against DIC in rats. Methods 24 adult male Wistar rats were allocated into four groups of six: control, DOX, 10 mg/kg EZE plus DOX and 20 mg/kg EZE plus DOX. At the end of the study, the experimental rats were anesthetized and blood samples were collected for b

Background: EOS (encoded by the IKZF4 gene) is a member of the zinc finger transcription factor IKaros family, and plays a critical role in Treg suppressor functions, and maintaining Treg stability. IL-6 is a soluble mediator with a pleiotropic effect on inflammation, immune response, and hematopoiesis. Aim: To estimate serum IL-6 level and EOS gene expression in Iraqi patients with psoriasis. Method: Twenty-two patients with psoriasis (8 females, 14 males) with age ranged 18-72 years, were recruited from Baghdad Teaching Hospital, Dermatology Clinic, Baghdad, and 24 healthy donors. The serum levels of IL-6 by ELISA and the gene expression of IKZF4 (EOS gene) by RT-qPCR technique. Results: The results showed a non-significant diffe

The head (capsule) of plant was extracted by maceration in70% ethanol for 72 hours, and fractioned by hexane, chloroform and ethyl acetate. Preliminary qualitative phytochemical screening was performed on the ethyl acetate fraction for capsule was revealed the presence of flavonoid and aromatic acids. These were examined by (high -performance liquid chromatography) (HPLC diodarray), (high- performance thin-layer chromatography)(HPTLC).
Flavonoids were isolated by preparative layer chromatography and aromatic acid was isolated by preparative high-
