Keys for 22 species representing 10 genera of Thripidae were provided collection of
samples carried out during 1999-2001 in different localities in the middle of Iraq. Of them

Abstract

Indeed, being busy with the understanding of religion is the best sort of worship that the almighty God has given each period of time a number of scholars and wise men. They receive what has been passed down to them from their great ancestors, and those who are willing to learn will learn, their students preserve their knowledge through teaching and writing. New tetradentate Schiff base [H2L] namely [2,2׳ -(ethane-1,2- diylbis (azan-1-ylylidene) diacetic acid)] was prepared from condensation of ethylenediamine with  glyoxylic acid  in ethanol as a solvent in presence of drops of 48% HBr .The structure of ligand (H2L) was characterized by,F-IR, U.V-Vis.,1H-,13C-NMR, pectrophotometer,melting point and elemental microanalysis C.H.N.  Metal complexes of the ligand (H2L) in general Molecular formula [M(L)(H2O)2], where M=  Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Mn(II) and Hg(II); L=(C6H8N2O4) were synthesized were characterized by, Atomic absorption, F-IR, U.V-Vis. spectra, molar conductivity and magnetic susceptibility.It was found that all the complexes showed octahedral geometries.And

The study aimed to investigate the effect of different times as follows 0.5, 1.00, 2.00 and 3.00 hrs, type of solvent (acetone, methanol and ethanol) and temperature (~ 25 and 50)ºc on curcumin percentage yield from turmeric rhizomes. The results showed significant differences (p? 0.05) in all variables. The curcumin content which were determined spectrophotometrically ranged between (0.55-2.90) %. The maximum yield was obtained when temperature, time and solvent were 50ºC, 3 hrs and acetone, respectively.
