Plasma alkaline phosphatase polymer phism and it’s association with productivity in Iraqi fowl

Plasma alkaline phosphatase isozyme in Iraqi fowl was studied by acrylamide gel electrophoresis. Two phenotypes fast and slow, were observed. These two phenotypes have been shown to be controlled by one single autosomal locus with two allel AKPF and AKPS. The gene frequency of AKPS is dominant over the AKPF. The result indicated that gene frequency of AKPF in leghorn and new hamshire was more frequent than in local Iraqi birds. Birds of fast isozyme type had higher 90 – day's egg production and egg weights as compared to those with slow isozyme. It is concluded that the fast isozyme can be used as gene marker for spotting out pullets with high body weight sexual maturity, high egg production and high egg weight.

A Study of the Association Between IL-17 and HOMA-IR in Iraqi Type 2 Diabetic Patients

Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM) is the furthermost common form of DM which is identified by hyperglycemia, insulin resistance, and relative insulin deficiency. This study aims to detect the role of interleukin-17 (IL-17) in patients with T2DM compared with the healthy control and to investigate the relationship between IL-17 and insulin resistance. The study involved 50 Iraqi T2DM patients, randomly selected with an age range of 33-71 years .For the purpose of comparison, 30 Iraqi healthy persons with an age range of 33-71 years were also included. Patients and control groups were characterized in terms of gender, age, body mass index (BMI), homeostatic model assessment-insulin resistance(HOMA-IR),fasting serum glucose (FSG) and lipid pr

Insulin Resistance in Association with Metabolic Syndrome in Wasit University Students in Iraq

In Iraq 1.4 million of people have diabetes, the prevalence of T2DM was ranged (8.5%—13.9%), and the cluster of metabolic abnormalities has long been identified as the risk factors for type 2 diabetes and is now commonly described as metabolic syndrome/MetS. Insulin resistance takes a key role in the process of the MetS and has even been hypothesized as its underlying cause. Clinical and epidemiologic studies also indicate that obesity and life style habit might be correlated with IR. This study examined the relationship between IR and MetS in a sample of young, healthy university students in Iraq. It discovered that the severity of IR is positively correlated with the clustering of MetS risk factors in Iraqi students, suggesting

Association between self‐reported oral disease/conditions and symptoms of depression among Iraqi individuals
Abstract
<title>Aims

The negative impact of oral diseases on the function, economy, and general health of the population is well‐documented. In the last decades, evidence linking increased expression of depression and oral diseases/conditions has significantly increased. The aim of this study is to assess the association between oral disease/conditions and self‐reported symptoms of depression individuals.

Methods

A specially designed questionnaire was distributed via social media for 1 week. It consisted of two main sections; the first section was dedicated to collect demographic variables and self‐reported symptoms

CA-125, plasma fibrinogen and C-reactive protein in correlation with severity of preeclampsia.

Background: Preeclampsia is most common medical disordersduring pregnancy, and the rate of hypertension ranges from 5 – 8 % f or all types of pregnancy. There was a significant difference between cancer antigen -125, plasma fibrinogen and C- reactive protein to the severity of preeclampsia.
Objective: To determine the level ofserum CA-125 level, C-reactive protein and plasma fibrinogen in preeclampsia and their association with the severity of disease and progression of mild preeclampsia to severe type.
Patients and method: A prospective case-control studywhich was carried out in the department of gynecology and obstetric at Baghdad teaching hospital from 1st ofJanuary 2015 to 1st of July 2015.One hundred forty pregnant women wer

HI A ASSOCIATION WITH CHILDHOOD ACUTE LYMPHOBLASTIC LEUKEMIA

Summary:
OBJECTIVE Many associations have been found between specific HLA antigens and increased susceptibility to various diseases . So we tried to associate class I and class II antigens with acute lymphoblastic leukemia . We also demonstrate the presence of antibodies in serum of acute lymphoblastic leukemic patients against HLA class I.
DESIGN: Prospective study.
SETTING: Tissue typing and histocompatibility center at Al- Karamah Teaching Hospital. PATIENTS AND METHOD: 70 acute lymphoblastic leukemia patients from pediatric hospitals. HLA ( human leukocyte antigens) typing done for them by serological method and cross matching and blood grouping were also done for them.
RESULTS: there was significant difference between pa

Evaluation of Plasma-microRNA320 level among Colorectal Cancer Iraqi Patients

Colorectal cancer (CRC) Patients showed different expression patterns of miRNAs which are involved in carcinogenesis in comparison to healthy controls individuals, miRNAs are involved in tumor progression and development of metastases. We investigate the expression profile of microRNA 320 and to quantify the expression level abundance among colorectal cancer patients in comparison to the healthy control group. The A total number of 60 plasma samples was collected from CRC patients along with 40 plasma samples from healthy controls and subjected to relative quantification using qPCR assay with a specified set of primers designed using s

Fabrication and Study of Nano catalysis for Alkaline Fuel Cell

In this paper the manufacture of an alkaline fuel cell electrodes made upfrom a Nano mesh (Pt:NiO) catalyst has been studying , made from a Nano mesh (Pt:NiO ) catalyst. The general morphology of the samples is were imaged by using with the an Atomic Force Microscope (AFM) to determine the roughness of the prepared surface, it constructed from nanostructure with dimensions in order of 35 nm. The Structural characteristics were studied through the analysis of X-ray diffraction (XRD) of the prepared nanomaterial for determining the yielding phase;1. 72 volt was also obtained at 0.02 A/cm2 current density for an alkaline fuel cell.

Association of Erythropoietin, Adiponectin and Leptin levels with Anemia in uremic diabetic patients (Under hemodialysis):

Background: End stage renal disease in patients with diabetes mellitus has been called a medical catastrophe of worldwide dimensions .It was recognized that anemia is a complication of diabetes, particularly in patients with diabetic kidney diseases. The purpose of the present study is to determine whether erythropoietin, adiponectin, and leptin levels correlate with anemia in uremic diabetic patients (under hemodialysis).
Patients and Methods: The studied groups were comprised of (30) diabetic patients(9 patients with type1 and 21 type2 diabetes) with renal failure (group2) who had been under hemodialysis compared with (30) healthy controls (group1). Blood film was obtained in addition to blood tests inc
