Theoretical Investigations of Vibrational – Rotational Energy of some Hydrogen Halide Molecules
...Show More Authors

A theoretical study by using computer model is presented to study the energy characteristics of the vibrational – rotational levels as a function of the vibrational and rotational quantum number, respectively. The calculations were based on the basis of a multilevel model taking into account the non-equilibrium population of the rotational levels. The computational investigation has been performed to examine the vibrational-rotational characteristics of some hydrogen halides chemical laser molecules. This program takes into account the various molecules of chemical lasers such as, Hydrogen Fluoride (HF), Deuterium Fluoride (DF), Hydrogen Chloride (HCl), and Deuterium Chloride (DCl). The practical difficulties associated with this type of lasers suggested that alternative route might be quite useful. Thus particular attention was paid to the development of computer program to investigate various energy characteristics. Comparison of the calculated results for different molecules shows that the highest values for the HF molecule probably due to their higher constants in comparison with the other molecules.

SIMULATION FOR PERFORMANCE EVALUATION OF SATELLITE-BASED QUANTUM COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
...Show More Authors

The selection and assessment of single-photon detection modules is a crucial problem in satellite-based QKD systems. The system's overall efficiency, secure key rate and quantum bit error rate are all significantly influenced by single-photon detection modules. There is a knowledge gap about the practical performance of commercially available single-photon detectors because existing research frequently relies on theoretical characteristics. This paper introduces a study on the effect of the parameters of three commercial single photon detection modules from ID Quantique company: ID Qube, ID100, and ID281 on certain Bennett-Brassard 1984 protocol parameters such as secure key rate, mean photon number per pulse, quantum bit error rate

Thermal performance of different solar distillators under Iraq climate condition
...Show More Authors

In this work, a novel single-slope solar distillator of floating perforated absorber inserted with wicks (cotton ribbons), and a stepped distillator are designed and manufactured with the aim of developing the conventional distillator. They are examined experimentally at Baghdad, Iraq (33.3°N Latitude, 44.4°E Longitude) in order to enhance the freshwater productivity and the efficiency of the conventional distillator. Results showed that the daily productivity and efficiency of the stepped distillator are higher than that for conventional solar distillator by 30% and 36.19% respectively. The daily productivity and thermal efficiency for the distillator with the floating absorber are higher than that for the conventional distillator by 16%

Abstract<p>The new Schiff base 1‐[(2‐{1‐[(dicyclohexylamino)‐methyl]‐1H‐indol‐3‐yl}‐ethylimino)‐methyl]naphthalen‐2‐ol (HL) was prepared from 1‐{[2‐(1H‐Indol‐3‐yl)‐ethylimino] methyl}‐naphthalen‐2‐ol and dicyclohexyl amine. From this Schiff base, monomeric complexes [M (L)n (H2O)2 Cl2] with M = Cr, Fe, Mn, Cd, and Hg were synthesized and characterized based on elemental analysis (EA), FT‐IR, mass(MS), UV‐visible, thermal analysis, magnetic moment, and molar conductance. The results showed that the geometrical structural were octahedral geometries for the Cr(III) and Fe(III) complex</p> ... Show More

SPECTROPHOTOMETRIC METHOD FOR THE DETERMINATION OF METOCLOPRAMIDE IN PHARMACEUTICAL FORMS
...Show More Authors

A UV-Vis spectrophotometry method was developed for the determination of metoclopramide hydrochloride in pure and several pharmaceutical preparations, such as Permosan tablets, Meclodin syrups, and Plasil ampoules. The method is based on the diazotization reaction of metoclopramide hydrochloride with sodium nitrate and hydrochloric acid to yield the diazonium salt, which is then reacted with 3,5-dimethyl phenol in the presence of sodium hydroxide to form a yellow azo dye. Calibration curves were linear in the range from 0.3 to 6.5 µg/mL, with a correlation coefficient of 0.9993. The limits of detection and quantification were determined and found to be 0.18 and 0.61 µg/mL, respectively. Accuracy and precision were also determined b

Protective Effect of Cafestol on Doxorubicin-induced Genotoxicity in Rats
...Show More Authors
Doxorubicin is an efficient antineoplastic agent that has a broad antitumour spectrum; however, its genotoxic adverse effects on normal cells can be produced through oxidative damage, and this limits its clinical application. Cafestol is a naturally-occurring diterpene in unfiltered coffee with noteworthy antioxidant, antimutagenic and anti-inflammatory activities.

The present study aimed to investigate the possible protective effect of cafestol against doxorubicin-induced chromosomal and DNA damage in rat bone marrow cells. Wistar

Albino rats of both sexes were administered cafestol (5mg/kg body weight once

The role of prophylactic antibiotics in nasal packing for epistaxis
...Show More Authors

Background: This study is to evaluate the necessity of prescribing prophylactic antibiotics for nasal packing in spontaneous epistaxis. There are few published papers of infective complications in such patients.

Methods: This prospective study analysed 149 consecutive patients admitted to AL-Kindy teaching hospital with spontaneous, epistaxis, who underwent nasal packing  over 2 years period . in the first  year, 78 patients received prophylactic antibiotics , In the second  year 71 patients were not given prophylatic antibiotics.  Exclusion criteria included antibiotics prescribed for unrelated  pathology and post-operative epistaxis. Signs and symptoms of acute otitis m

Seismic Response of Nonseismically Designed Reinforced Concrete Low Rise Buildings
...Show More Authors

In this paper, the time-history responses of a square plan two-story reinforced concrete prototype building, considering the elastic and inelastic behavior of the materials, were studied numerically. ABAQUS software was used in three-dimensional (3D) nonlinear dynamic analysis to predict the inelastic response of the buildings. Concrete Damage Plasticity Model (CDPM) has been used to model the inelastic behavior of the reinforced concrete building under seismic excitation. The input data included geometric information, material properties, and the ground motion. The building structure was designed only for gravity load according to ACI 318 with
