Background: Obesity is a major public health concern and is on the rise worldwide. Numerous studies revealed that the best method for treating morbid obesity is bariatric surgery, which has indicated its effectiveness in controlling weight. Published studies reported that patients who had undergone bariatric surgery may have psychiatric illnesses when compared to other obese individuals with similar preoperative characteristics.

Objectives:  Estimate the rates of anxiety and depression among post-operative bariatric surgery patients.

         The aims of the present study are to evaluate the levels of CA19-9 in sera and tissues' homogenate of breast and thyroid benign patients in order to assess its use as an early diagnostic parameter in differentiation between malignant and benign cases. The study was conducted on 8 patients with breast benign tumor and 8 patients with thyroid benign tumor, by the enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) technique.      The glucagon-like peptide-1 is secreted by intestinal L cells in response to nutrient ingestion. It regulates the secretion and sensitivity of insulin while suppressing glucagon secretion and decreasing postprandial glucose levels , additionally, glucagon-like peptide-1 delays gastric emptying and suppresses appetite.
