The study of biopolymers and their derivative materials had received a considerable degree of attention from researchers in the preparation of novel material. Biopolymers and their derivatives have a wide range of applications as a result of their bio-compatibility, bio-degradability and non-toxicity. In this paper, chitosan reacted with different aldehydes(2,4 –dichloro- benzaldehyde or 2-methyl benzaldehyde), different ketones (4-bromoacetophenone or 3-aminoacetophenone) to produce chitosan schiff base (1-4) . Chitosan schiff base (1-4) reacted with glutaric acid or adipic acid in acidic media in distilled water according to the steps of Fischer and Speier to produce compounds (5-12) respectively. Grafted chitosan (5-12) blended with synthetic polymer PVA to produce compounds (13-20), then these polymers were blended with nano Ag by using a hotplate stirrer for 60 min to produce nanocomposites. The synthesized polymers were identified via spectral analysis techniques, including FTIR , 1H-NMR and scanning electron microscope (SEM). Finally, studied anti-bacterial activities of some of the prepared polymers.
Ibuprofen is one of the most important members of NSAIDs, named aryl propionic acid derivative. Isatin (1H-indole-2,3-dione) is an important molecule of heterocyclic compounds that have many biological activities. This work illustrates the synthesis of new ibuprofen-isatin derivatives by connecting ibuprofen hydrazide with different isatin derivatives by a condensation reaction, followed by characterization by fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and proton nuclear magnetic resonance (1H-NMR) spectroscopy. The anti-inflammatory activity was evaluated by using the egg-white induce edema method for all the synthesized compounds (5-8), the compounds 5 and 6 showed better anti-inflammatory activity than ibuprofen as a standard

... Show MoreThe present work focuses on the changing of the structural characteristics of the grown materials through different material characterization methods. Semiconductor CdSxSe 1-x nano crystallines have been synthesized by chemical vapor depostion. (X- ray Diffraction; XRD), (Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscopy; FESEM), measured the characterization of Semiconductor CdSxSe1-x nano crystallines. The optical properties of semiconductor CdSxSe1-x nanocrystallines have been studied by the photoluminescence (PL) (He-Cd pulsed ultraviolet laser at 325nm excitation wavelength) at room temperature. The results showed the change rule of photoluminsence peak at different S

Show MoreIn this research , phthallic anhydride ring is opened with 4-methyl aniline and acetone as a solvent to results the compound [I] that reacted with dimethyl sulphate and anhydrous sodium carbonate formation to phathalate ester [II], while the acid hydrazide compound [III], was obtained from mixed the compound [II]with hydrazine hydrate, Synthesis four type of shiff bases[IV]a-d was synthesized from the reaction of acid hydrazide [III] with aromatic aldehyde or ketone , when reacted Shiff bases with phthalic anhydride or naphthalicanhydride,I get eight derivatives of oxazepine [V]a-d , [VI]a-d. The bacterial activity of the new compounds studied by four species of bacteria: Esherichia Coli, Enterobactecloacae (Gram negative) and staphylococcu
... Show MoreThe inhibitive action of Reactive Red (RR31) dye against corrosion of carbon steel in 1M acetic acid solution has been studied using gravimetric method at temperature ranged (288-318)K. The antibacterial activity for the different concentrations of RR31 dye against different bacterial species was studied. The experimental data indicates that this dye acts as a potential inhibitor for carbon-steel in acetic acid medium and the protection efficiency increase with increasing (RR31) dye. The adsorption of (RR31) dye on the carbon steel surface was found to follow Langmuir adsorption isotherm. Thermodynamic data for the adsorption process such as Gibbs free energy change ∆Gads, enthalpy change ∆Hads, and entropy change ∆Sads were estima
... Show MoreNew derivatives of the anti-inflammatory, leprostatic drug dapsone 4 are synthesized, characterized and biologically screened by the treating the drug dapsone with chloroacetyl chloride in the presence of base. Both amino groups are acylated to give compound 6. The symmetrical acylated product then treated with Phenol, N-Acetyl-p-aminophenol, p-Chlorophenol, m-Chlorophenol, o-Hydroxybezoic acid and m-Hydroxybezoic acid to give compounds 8(a-f). The antimicrobial activity was tested for the synthesized compounds; activates were good compared to the parent drug. All the new compounds have scanned for their biological activities toward gram ‒ve and gram +ve (M. tuberculosis, S. pneumoniae, E. coli and P. mirabilis) bacteria, the synthesized

Show MoreIn this work, we synthesized thirteen compounds of 1-(2-furoyl)thiourea derivatives 1-13 by conversion of 2-furoyl chloride to 2-furoyl isothiocyanate by reacting it with potassium thiocyanate in dry acetone in a quite short reflux time then, in the same pot, different of (primary and secondary amines) were added individually to achieve thiourea derivatives. The products were characterized spectroscopically using (FT-IR, 1H NMR and 13C NMR) techniques. Some of them were evaluated as antioxidant agents using DPPH radical scavenging method, and all were examined theoretically as enzyme inhibitors against Bacillus pasteurii urease (pdb id: 4ubp) and by studying molecular docking using Autodock (4.2.6) software.
This study including synthesis of some new Schiff bases compounds [1‐6] from the reaction of Sulfamethoxazole drug with some aromatic aldehydes in classical Schiff base method then treatment Schiff bases with succinic anhydride to get oxazepines rings [7-11]These derivatives were characterized by melting point, FT‐IR, 1H NMR and mass spectra. Some of synthesized compounds were evaluated in vitro for their antibacterial activities against three kinds of pathogenic strains Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli
