Preparation, Spectroscopy, Biological Activities and Thermodynamic Studies of New Complexes of Some Metal Ions with 2-[5-(2-Hydroxy-Phenyl)- 1,3,4-Thiadiazol-2-Ylimino]-Methyl-Naphthalen-1-Ol]
...Show More Authors

This study describes the preparation of new series of tetra-dentate N2O2 dinuclear complexes (Cr3+, Co2+, Cu2+) of the Schiff base derived from condensation of 1-Hydroxy-naphthalene-2-carbaldehyde with 2-amino-5-(2-hydroxy-phenyl)-1,3,4-thiadiazole. The structures of the ligands were identified using IR, UV-Vis , mass,  elemental analysis and 1H-NMR techniques. All prepared complexes have been characterized by conductance measurement, magnetic susceptibility, electronic spectra, infrared spectrum, theromgravimatric analysis (TGA) and metal analysis by atomic absorption. From stoichiometry of metal to ligand and all measurements show a octahedral geometry proposed for all complexes of the (Cr3+, Co2+, Cu2+). conductivity measurement shows that of the prepared (Co2+, Cu2+) complexes were non electrolyte but (Cr3+) complexes were electrolyte. The parameters of thermodynamic, activation energy Ea , enthalpy ΔH, entropy ΔS and Gibbs free energy ΔG   were calculated using Coats-Redfern method by the TGA curve. The bioactivity of the prepared (LH2) and its complexes have been examined with antibacterial activity which shows significant activity against some fungi and bacteria.

Non-Linear Programming for AR(2) Parameter Estimation: Gradient Projection and Convex Quadratic Programming Methods
...Show More Authors

Assessing parameters in autoregressive (AR) models is a fundamental aspect of time-series analysis and is widely used in fields such as finance, climate science, and engineering. Ordinary least squares and maximum likelihood estimation are commonly used for this purpose, but their performance can be affected when the estimation process is subject to complex constraints. In this study, two nonlinear programming techniques—the Gradient Projection (GP) method and Convex Quadratic Programming (CQP) based on the complementary pivot algorithm—were examined for estimating the parameters of an AR(2) model. The two nonlinear methods were compared with traditional estimation techniques using the Mean Squared Error (MSE) as the primary criterion.

Plasma Optical Emission Spectroscopy Study of Some Iron Meteorites
...Show More Authors

This study aims to analyze spectra in real-time for λ Draconids, σ Hydrids, μ Virginid, and one sporadic meteor using spectroscopic chemical analysis and diagnose plasma parameters. Good-resolution spectroscopy and a CCD camera for meteor observation were used concurrently to examine the ablation spectra of these meteorites in situ. The Boltzmann and Lorentz methods were then used to determine the temperature and density of electrons, the length of Debye, and the frequency of plasma. Furthermore, spectra data can be analyzed and compared to data from other sources. Spectrum tests can be utilized to identify the chemical structure of meteorites' plasma.

Effect of isovalent substitution and Quenching on the Transition Temperature of (Bi1-xPbx)2(Sr1-yBay)2Ca2Cu3O10+δ
...Show More Authors

A high Tc superconductor with a nominal composition
(Bi1-xPbx)2(Sr1-yBay)2Ca2Cu3O10+δ for (0 £ x £ 0.5) and (0 £ y £ 0.5) was prepared by
a solid state reaction method. The effect of the substitution of Pb for Bi and Ba for Sr and
quenching temperature on the superconductivity has been investigated to obtain the
optimum conditions for the formation and stabilization of the high Tc phase (2223).
The results showed that the optimum sintering temperature for the pure composition is
equal to 875°C and the sintering time is equal to 240h with heating and cooling rate of
60°C/h . Our results indicated that a small amount of (Ba = 0.1) could raise the transition
temperature (Tc), but enhancing Ba to 0.4 has raised
