The present study included the effect of acute exposure of different concentrations of sodium chloride on the Zooplankton Crustacean Daphnia pulex which belong to the order Cladocera. The lethal concentrations killing 50% of the population (LC50) after 24hrs and 48hrs were 2.95‰ and 2.63‰ respectively While lethal concentrations killing 100%  of the population (LC100) and non lethal concentrations (LC0) were 6‰ and 0.5‰ after 24hrs of exposure to NaCl. The acute exposure of the Crustacean Daphnia pulex showed increasing in mortality percentages with increasing the concentrations and exposure time

To find out a simple and efficient equation to estimate maize ear grain weight on farm (in situ), twenty three maize crosses along with two synthetics were grown in the field. On the experimental farm of the Dept. of Field Crop Sci., College of Agric., Univ. of Baghdad, seeds of twenty five maize genotypes were grown in the fall season of 2013 with three replicates. At dough stage of the kernels, five naked ears of each experimental units were measured for length and maximum diameter. This will sum up 125 ears of the trial. In this paper investigate the influences of dissolved CO₂/H₂S gases, crude oil velocity and temperature on the rate of corrosion of crude oil transmission pipelines of Maysan oil fields southern Iraq. The Potentiostatic corrosion test technique was conducted into two types of carbon steel pipeline (materials API 5L X60 and API 5L X80). The computer software ECE electronic corrosion engineer was used to predict the influences of CO₂ partial pressure, the composition of crude oil, flow velocity of crude oil and percentage of material elements of carbon steel on the rate of corrosion.
