A new simple sensitive and selective spectrophotometric method has been
developed for the analysis of vanadium(V) in three randomly chosen samples from
river water at different locations by continuous flow injection analysis. The method
based on the oxidation of pyrogallol by vanadium(V) in acidic solution to form color
species and the same species was determined using homemade Ayah 6SX1-T-2D
solar cell analyser . Chemical and physical parameters were investigated using the
high intensity of snow white light emitted diode as a source. The linear dynamic
range for the instrument response versus vanadium(V) concentration was 1-200
mg.L-1 with correlation coefficient r = 0.9920. The limit of detection (S/N=3) was 70<

Show More(4R)-2, 3-(2`-chloro-2`- carboxyl)-1, 3-dioxolano-4- (2- dimethyl –dioxolane -yl) ascorbic acid (HL), a derivative of L-ascorbic acid was prepared by the reaction of 5,6-O-isopropylidene–L-ascorbic acid with trichloroacetic acid in alkaline medium. Seven new metal ion complexes of this ligand (HL) were prepared through its direct reaction with the chlorides of Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II), Cd(II) and Hg(II) ions respectively. The new ligand and its ion metal complexes were characterized applying elemental analyses,1H and 13C NMR, IR as well as UV-Visible spectra. Spectroscopic data showed that the ligand (C11H11O8Cl) was coordinated to the metal ions through the two oxygen atoms of the carboxyl group as abidentate ligan

Show MoreThe thermal stability of previously prepared tetraphenanthroporphyrazine (TPPH2) and its complexes with VO(IV) , Co(II) , Cu(II) , Zn(II) , Mg(II) , Ca (II) ions were studied by thermogravimetric analysis (TG & DTG) at temperature range (20-1000oC). The results indicated that these compounds have a high thermal stability comparable to those of phthalocyanine compounds (PC) and higher than those of hemiporphyrazine compounds (HP) . In general metal complexes were more stable than parent ligand . Data of magnetic susceptibility and electrical conductivity were also obtained as further support for the studied compoundes .
This review is concluded of 8-Hydroxyquinline (8HQ) compound and derivatives which has a very significant interests with a strong fluorescence , furthermore the relationship between divalent metal ions and characteristic of chelating . In the same way coordinated features have increase of its organic action and inorganic behavior by giving many samples of compounds which are a good chelating agents ligands with more capable of forming very stable complexes. Therefore, the role of (8HQ) is not limited on complexes only but its applications in different fields so this review will focus on demonstration preparation methods and properties of (8HQ) derivatives with their complexes and applications, hopefully that we will cover a part of scientifi

The prepared ligand was identified by Microelemental Analysis, FT-IR and UV-Vis spectroscopic technique. Treatment of the prepared ligand with the following metal ions (CoII, NiII, CuII and ZnII) in aqueous ethanol with a 1:2 M:L ratio and at optimum pH, yielded a series of neutral complexes of the general formula [M(L)2]. The prepared complexes were characterized using flame atomic absorption, (C.H.N) Analysis, FT-IR and UV-Vis spectroscopic methods as well as magnetic susceptibility and conductivity measurements. The nature of the complexes formed were studied following the mole ratio and continuous variation methods, Beer's law obeyed over a concentr

... Show MoreSchiff bases (SBs) based on amino acid derivative stand for multipurpose ligands that formed by condensing amino acids with carbonyl groups. They are significant in pharmaceutical and medical areas due to their widespread biological actions such as antiseptic, antifungal, along with antitumor actions. Transition metallic complexes resulting from SB ligands with biological activity were extensively experimented in the literature. In this article, we review, in details, about synthesizing and biological performances of SBs along with its complexes.
The synthesis, characterization and liquid crystalline properties of N4,N40-bis((1 H-benzo[d]imidazol-2- yl)methyl)-3,30-dimethyl-[1,10-biphenyl]-4,40-diamine and of their corresponding Mn(II), Fe(II), Ni (II), Cu(II), and Zn(II) complexes are described. The ligand and complexes have been characterized by elemental analysis, magnetic susceptibility measurements (meff), conductometric measurements and Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR), Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (1H NMR), (13C-NMR) and UV–Vis spectroscopy. Spectral investigations suggested octahedral coordination geometrical arrangement for M(II) complexes. The phase transition temperatures were detected by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) analysis and the phases are confirmed by op
