Four new binuclear Schiff base metal complexes [(MCl2)2L] {M = Fe 1, Co 2, Cu 3, Sn 4, L = N,N’-1,4-Phenylenebis (methanylylidene) bis (ethane-1,2-diamine)} have been synthesized using direct reaction between proligand (L) and the corresponding metal chloride (FeCl2, CoCl2, CuCl2 and SnCl2). The structures of the complexes have been conclusively determined by a set of spectroscopic techniques (FT-IR, 1H-NMR, and mass spectra). Finally, the biological properties of the complexes have been investigated with a comparative approach against different species of bacteria (E. coli G-, Pseudomonas G-, Bacillus G+, Staphylococcus G+, and Streptococcus G+).
Reaction of L1 [((E)-N1-(nitrobenzylidene)benzene-1,2-diamine] and L2( m-aminophenol), and one equivalent of di- or tri-valent metals(Cr(ӀӀӀ), Mn(ӀӀ), Fe(ӀӀӀ), Co(ӀӀ), Ni(ӀӀ), Cu(ӀӀ) and Zn(ӀӀ) afforded the complexes [M(L1)(L2)2]Cl, M=Cr(ӀӀӀ) and Fe(ӀӀӀ) and the complexes [M(L1)(L2)2] M= Mn(ӀӀ), Co(ӀӀ), Ni(ӀӀ), Cu(ӀӀ) and Zn(ӀӀ). The structure of the Schiff base ligand and their complexes are characterized by (C:H:N), FT.IR, UV.Vis, 1HNMR, 13CNMR and mass spectral. The presence of metal in the complexes are characterized by flame atomic absorption. The spectral data of the complexes have revealed the octahedral geometry. The (L1), (L2) and mixed ligand metal complexes were screened for their ability as cataly

The two ligands were prepared by Strecker’s procedure which includ the reaction of p- toluidine with benzaldehyde and P- chlorobenzaldehyde respectively. Structures were proposed depending on atomic absorption , i.r. and u.v.visible spectra in addition to magnetic susceptibility and electrical conductivity measurements.

All the complexes had octahedral geometry. The bioactivity activity for compounds against; Rhizopodium, Staphylococcus aureus, and Escherichia coli showed different efficacy towards these microorganisms
A novel ligand ((1E)-(2-(4-fluorobenzylidene)amino)methyl) phenyl)diazenyl)-1,3,7-trimethyl-3,7-dihydro-1H-purine-2,6-dione (4-FADPD) was synthesized via the azotization reaction of 2-aminobenzylamine with caffeine, and the resultant compound was condensed with 4-fluorobenzaldehyde to form a newly azo-Schiff base ligand. Its complexes with Cu(II), Ag(I), and Au(III) were synthesized. The results of multi-identifications, including XRD, elemental analysis (C.H.N), UV-vis spectroscopy, FTIR, and 1H-NMR, were used to propose the suggested structures using molar conductivity measurements. These data were utilized to propose appropriate geometric configurations for all complexes. The azo-Schiff base ligand coordinates toward the Cu(II) i

These were done via study the antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anticancer and antileishmanial activities in vitro. The antioxidant levan was shown 80.9% activity at 1250 µg/mL concentration. The efficient anti-inflammatory activity of 88% protein inhibition was noticed with levan concentration at 35 µg/mL. The cytotoxic activity of levan at 2500 µg/mL concentration showed a maximum cytotoxic effect on L20B cell line and promastigotes of Leishmani tropica. Six membered heterocyclic derivatives (dihydroquinazoline-4-one and 1,3-benzothiazine-4-one (6–15)) were synthesized by cyclization reaction of Schiff bases (1–5) with anthranilic acid and o-mercaptobenzoic acid in oily bath. Prepared compounds was characterized by FTIR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR, mass spectroscopy and elemental analysis to confirm structure of synthesized derivatives. Heterocyclic compounds are of interest for scientific research due to important antioxidant properties; Compounds 10, 12, and 15 appeared good results by scavenging free radicals. Investigation of microbial activity to synthesized compounds 6–15 showed that compounds 6, 10, and 11 demonstrate the highest inhibition zone.
