This study evaluated biological pollution in the Tigris River within Baghdad City during 2024 using bacterial indicators and selected physicochemical parameters. Two sampling stations were selected near the Sharq Dijla and Al-Karama drinking-water purification plants. Fifty samples from each station were collected monthly from January to December 2024 and analyzed for turbidity, total coliforms, fecal coliforms, E. coli, and total viable bacterial counts using conventional culture and dilution-based plate-count methods. Method: The cross-sectional study was conducted from October 2021 to May 2022 at the Department of Physiology, College of Medicine, University of Mustansiriyah, Baghdad, Iraq, and comprised healthy women.
