Organic Content in the Sediments of Tigris and Diyala Rivers, south of Baghdad, and its Relationship with some Environmental factors, Benthic Invertebrates Groups and Values of Diversity Indices
...Show More Authors

This study was conducted to detect the relationship between organic content in the sediment of Rivers Tigris and Diyala, at two locations south of Baghdad, with some environmental factors and the benthic invertebrates and values of diversity indices. Monthly samples collected from the area for the period November 2007 to October 2008. Results showed differences in the physical and chemical characteristics of the two sites, Where the annual average in Tigris and Diyala were respectively for: water temperature (19, 20) C°, pH (8, 8), dissolved oxygen (4, 8) mg / l , Biochemical oxygen Demand BOD5 (3,44 ) mg/l, TDS (632,1585) mg / l, TSS (42, 44) mg / l, turbidity (28,74) NTU, and total hardness as CaCO3 (485,823) mg / l ,Sulfate as SO4 ?(183,366),And finally nitrate as NO3 (4, 6) mg / l. Significant differences were found in the organic matter content as a percentage in the sediments of Diyala River for most months of the study period. Annual average of the percentage of organic matter in the samples of Tigris and Diyala Rivers were respectively: 0.7425 and 1.1375. The benthic groups included variety of benthic organisms; insects, Oligochaetes, Mollusks, and Crustaceans. Highest population density in Tigris River was for insects 31493 individual / m2, Mollusks 23177 individual / m2, Oligochaetes 10774 individual / m2, and Crusteacea 176 individual / m2 which were confined to Tigris River. In Diyala River highest population density was 9908, 18046, 82649 individual / m2 for Mollusks, Insects and Oligochaetes respectively. Values of diversity indices of benthic invertebrates were highest for species richness and equitability in Diyala River respectively, 18.6 and 8.29 in February, while lower values for species richness and equitability in Tigris River were respectively 1.56 and 3.31 in the same month. Most groups of invertebrate have shown significant positive and negative relationships with the physical and chemical and organic characteristics in both Rivers.

Psychological Expenditure and its Relationship to the Serving Skills of Specialized Volleyball Players
...Show More Authors

The importance of this research lies in developing a psychological expenditure scale and its relationship to the passing skills of specialized volleyball players. The research problem focused on psychological expenditure as one of the problems and challenges faced by specialized players and its negative impact, such as poor skill performance, which is reflected in the performance of the player and the team. This weakens the player's self-confidence and concentration and affects the team's performance in tournaments as well as their performance in training. The research aims to develop a psychological expenditure scale, and the researcher used the descriptive approach as it is appropriate for the nature of the research problem. The f

...Show More Authors

The aim of the research is to identify the relationship between health anxiety associated with Coronavirus (Covid 19) and its relationship to health behavior among Baghdad University employees, as well as to identify the differences in health anxiety and health behavior according to the variables (gender, occupation, and age). To achieve the objectives of the research, a scale was designed to measure the health anxiety in addition to the adoption of the health behavior scale prepared by (Renner & Schwarzer, 2005). The two scales were applied to a sample of (277) academics and (206) employees, while the number of students was (667). The sample was chosen by electronic application from a number of colleges at Al-Jadiriyah Complex. Afte

Influence of Row Orientation and Planting Density on Some Growth Characteristics, Grain Yield and Quality Indices of Bread Wheat Cultivars
...Show More Authors
Abstract<p>A field experiment was implemented during during of crop year 2023-2024 at the Agricultural Engineering Research Station of the University of Baghdad to evaluate the influence of row orientation and planting density on certain growth traits, grain yield, and quality indices of bread wheat cultivars. The experiment was designed as a split-plot arrangement within a randomized complete block design (RCBD) with three replications. The main plots included three wheat cultivars (Iba’a-99, Buhooth-22, and Buhooth-10), while the subplots consisted of three planting densities (80, 100, and 120 kg ha−1), and the sub-sub plots were assigned to two row orientations: East-</p> ... Human values and principles in the three religions
...Show More Authors

The laws of the three religions tend to extend the rules and foundations of coexistence, and this is achieved in achieving the values and principles that these laws have nourished in all societies.

Our research deals with a major problem that has broken out in our societies, namely (disturbing the balance of values and behavioral standard between people), and perhaps one of the greatest causes of the problem is to move away from the correct divine discourse and sound approach, as well as corruption of common sense and the violation of its rules and found principles in the hearts of people.
