The result revealed that the peak of population density of cabbage aphid Brevicoryne brassicae was 523.20 individuals/plant on 21 March in edges of rapeseed field and was 1141.67 individuals/plant in center of the field. Results revealed that population density of cabbage aphid in rapeseed fields surrounded by cover crops significantly were low compared with that of monoculture rapeseed. Mass transfer has been studied at rotating cylinder electrodes fabricated with spiral-wound woven-wire meshes using reduction of copper as a test reaction. The experimental data were correlated by an empirical expression between the Sherwood number and the Reynolds number, both regarding the hydraulic diameter as a characteristic length. It was found that the Sherwood number was dependent upon the Reynolds number to the power of 0.521. Through the reaction 1,4- phen ylene diamine with different aromatic aldehydes substituted by many different groups in acidic medium and absolute ethanol as a solvent to obtain the Schiff bases (1a-5a). These compounds are reacted with substituted aromatic carboxylic acids and anhydride to give three types of heterocyclic compounds.
