Complexes from the ligand (2-hydroxy benzaldine)-4-aminoantipyrine with some transition metal ions V(l?),Cr(lll),Fe(lll) and Co(ll) were prepared in the presence of the co-ligand 1,10-phenanthroline in alcoholic medium. These compounds were characterized by the available techniques: FT-IR ,UV-Visible ,magnetic susceptibility, Flame atomic absorption technique as well as elemental analysis and conductivity mesurments .From these spectral studies, a square pyramidal structure proposed for V(IV) complex and an octahedral geometry for Cr(III),Fe(III) and Co(II) complexes. The biological activity of the ligands and their complexes were evaluated by a gar plate diffusion technique against three human pathogenic bacterial strains: Pseudomonas aerogenuosa, E.schriachia coli. and Staphlococcus arureus. Some of the complexes were found to have a good antibacterial activity a gainst these pathogens.
Some metal ions (Mn+2, Co+2, Ni+2, Cu+2, Zn+2, Cd+2 and Hg+2) complexes of quinaldic acid (QuinH) and α-picoline (α-Pic) have been synthesized and characterized on the basis of their , FTIR, (U.V-Vis) spectroscopy, conductivity measurements, magnetic susceptibility and atomic absorption. From the results obtained the following general formula has suggested for the prepared complexes [M(Quin)2( α-Pic)2].XH2O where M+2 = (Mn, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, Cd and Hg), X = 2, X = zero for (Co+2 and Hg+2) complexes, (Quin-) = quinaldate ion, (α-Pic) = α-picoline. The results showed that the deprotonated ligand (QuinH) by using (KOH) coordinated to metal ions as bidentate ligand through the oxygen atom of the carboxylate group (-COO-) and the nitrogen ato

Show MoreThe present study envisaged utilizing 4-aminoantipyrine as key intermediate for the synthesis of some new derivatives bearing anti-bacterial and anti-cancer activities moieties viz., antipyrine diazenyl benzaldehydes 2(ad) which were obtained by coupling of diazotized 4-aminoantipyrine (1) with substituted benzaldehydes at 0◦C (iced) temperature. The other antipyrine derivatives where containing bis heterocycles like bis thiazolidinone-antipyrine (4), bis imidazolidinone -antipyrine (5) and bis azetidinone -antipyrine (6).These compounds were prepared through the reaction between 4- aminoantipyrine and terephthaldicarboxaldehyde to get (3) which were reacted with mercaptoacetic acid , glycine or chloroacetyl chloride separately to get com

Metal mixed ligand complexes of the Schiff base were prepared from chloride salts of Zn(II), Cd(II) and Hg(II) in ethanol and 8-hydroxyquinoline(8HQ)(C9H7NO) containing sodium hydroxide. All the complexes were characterized on the basis of their; FT-IR and U.V spectra, melting point, molar conductance, and determination of the percentage of the metal in the complexes by flame (AAS). In the all complexes, (8HQ) behaves as a bidentate ligand as primary ligand through –-OH phenolic group and –N groups of pyridine group. Also, the prepared ligand (L) was bidentate i

Show MoreBy condensation of benzaldehyde with thiourea in absolute ethanol in the presence of glacial acetic acid as a catalyst, the Schiff base(1-benzylidenethiourea)[I] was synthesized by synthesis of 4-(3-benzylidenethioureido)-4-thioxobut-2-enoic acid compound[II] by reaction of maleic anhydride with schiff base [I] in DMF. When treating compound [II] with ammonium persulfate (NH4)2S2O8 (APS) as an ethanol initiator to obtain polymer [III], compound [III] reacted to polymer [IV] with SOCl2 in benzene. 4-Amino-N-(5-methyl-isaxazol-3-yl)-benzenesulfonamide was synthesized by reacting the diazonium salt of sulfamethoxazole with 3-amino phenol. Complexes of Ni(II), Pd(II), Au(III), and Pt(IV) were produced and characterized by atomic absorption, elemental microanalysis, infrared spectroscopy, liquid chromatography–mass spectroscopy, thermogravimetric analysis, different scanning calorimetry, and ultraviolet–visible spectroscopy. Furthermore, the conductivity and magnetic properties were quantified. According to the analytical studies, all complexes were found to possess a 1:2 metal–ligand ratio and were non-electrolytes, except the Au(III) complex electrolyte, which had a 1:1 metal:ligand ratio. The biological activities of some of the
